Seems old man winter is having fun here this year.. I have feet of snow already here and here it comes again! This is way more than normal for this area.. Of course I'm in the purple zone!
Yup, this one may be the biggest pain in the azz. So slow moving there will be numerous car cleanings, walk shovelings, snow blowings......
Any heavy wind predicted in this event Ray? I don't mind the snow too much, but moving it in the winds is just plain ridiculous. It is getting old. A few more weeks and we will turn the corner and get some warmth, I hope.
Don't know Jon I worked 12 hours yesterday and didn't get home until close to 8PM.. Will try to catch the weather at 6PM today..
Dammit we have rain slated for tomorrow.......if you weren't so far off Ray, I'd load the sled up and be on my way!! Stay safe all you northerners, keep us posted on the storm....
Great sledding here too Scott! I see tracks across the bogs out my front window.. Never been on a snowmobile but it looks like fun!
My old trusty snowblower ran and started fine last time so I should be OK.. Will bring in firewood before the snow hits the fan..
I have to dig some wood out of the pile. Wind-driven snow encased it all. My friend reports older, heavier sleds are having trouble getting stuck in deeper snow if they are not on a packed trail. Newer, lighter sleds with higher horsepower and taller paddles are getting through ok.
C'mon up here Scotty, the groomer just went past the house here about a half hour ago. Lots of traffic movin on the trails here this a.m. We got another couple of inches last night. Supposed to get another 6" by tomorrow night. On top of that, one U.S. Dollar is currently worth $1.21 Canadian.
I wish we would get a little of that cold weather you guys back east are getting, this 55-60 degree thing in February is ridiculous! I haven't had the stove lit all week. I woke up to go to work the other day and it was 55 degrees at 5AM
We have another 6-10 maybe 10-16 inches coming in, even though I plowed some trails to the wood, I might use the snowmobile with the cargo snow sled to bring the wood in.
We're posed to get another 6"-10" over the next few days too. Giz was checkin out the new mountains to play on...
Our forecast started with 3-6" but now has dwindled to less than a half inch and a little bit of rain. The low tonight of 35 (presently 34) is the high for tomorrow with temperatures falling tomorrow. Then it is back to reality again with cold temperatures.
On another note I am derailing my own thread to show a video that happened while I was on the JFK in Scotland.. Pretty cool! I forgot about this..
Exactly Ray. I am running out of places to put this crap. The snow banks in front of the house at the road are approaching 8' high where I throw the snow. A couple more feet and I can hang laundry off the lowest telephone wires on the poles out front.
