Nice stacks, and some dry looking wood for sure!! I got my hands on some of the rubber roofing this fall as well. Will definitely be using it on next years stacks as well. Should last a long time too.
No Kiddin Fanatical, but for real, I put some old plywood on top my stacks, then the rubber, plywood gives a nice flat surface for block to sit and hold everything down....nice woodstacks in this thread for sure
As I've just about run out in my first year of trying to make the move to become a true wood hoarder, I dream of the day I can look out my back door and rows of cut and split wood seasoning like yours.
Thanks for the tip on the plywood. I could see it helping especially if you have a wide area your covering! Your stacks are indeed impressive and I like your bringing it undercover on the porch to finish it off. You will get there. Just need to double up for a couple years. How's the wood shed coming along?
Good stuff Fan. Got mine nice and covered now, but just with the white stuff and will see how much worse its gonna be by the end of this 3 day snow fun. That's some plywood on the splitter in the middle.
I finished the smaller one that I put on my deck. For now I tabled the other. My plan come spring is to take go up the hill a bit and build a leanto over a 24'x8' section. This will cover pallets that I use to stack the wood. Hopefully I'll have that done by mid to late spring. Spring is tough for me as I manage a 12U girls fast pitch tournament team and a 10U girls fast pitch travel team. This eats up my spring, summer and fall. We have already started indoor training which is two nights a week. Now that basketball is over, my weekends are free. This means I have a short window with which to get cutting and building. Thankfully a Leanto is a pretty basic building. The hardest thing for the Leanto will be leaving the area and putting down a good bed of gravel for a stable surface. Outside of that will be cutting and spitting. Which my son and dad will help with.
Not many trees laying around where most these folds are from for sure Nice stacks everyone. Isn't it amazing how addicting this can get. All snow here so I haven't been out in a while and I'm missing it. Every find myself constantly looking at all the potential laying around as I drive home. Just saw one of the gold courses cut some Red Oak and put the rounds where they get rid of the trees. I'm going to try and see if they'll take a trade-donuts for wood
Enough to share. Even called it quits before dark today as it was no fun tromping through it. Will get the tractor out tomorrow afternoon and see what can be done Fan.
Great stacks I use roofing rubber for covering almost everything. Splitter has its own piece. But don't leave it on the lawn on a sunny day or you'll be sorry.
