Good picture and representation of an average day of cutting with a 461.

That helped a bunch thank you. The way some was describing it on another site you would have thought it was caked with dust.

One other question as i dont want to start another thread. Diws the decompression valve stick up high. Another issue I have read is its too high and easily broken off.

    A thirsty saw is a 660. A 461 gets about 20% longer on a tank than a 460 did.

This may not sound like an answer to that question, but it most certainly is...

After putting a decent number of tanks through my 461 before I traded it off I can't honestly say that I ever noticed the decomp sticking up excessively far. That's considering I used it in most/all normal use positions including off-hand horizontal cutting. Never hit the valve on anything.

Additionally, it doesn't take three men and a boy to start a 461, even with higher compression, so you can always pull the valve and plug the hole. That would be a very simple solution.

I suppose it could happen. Here's a couple of shots from a few different angles to give you an idea of how it's exposed. It could definitely happen but was never something I considered or would worry about. The third one is parallel with the top cover.. put my thumb there to give some perspective and I have kinda fat fingers..lol.. 20150205_155145.jpg 20150205_155106.jpg 20150205_155221.jpg

No different than my former 441 or my new 660. No problem.

All this talk leaves me with a question. Will the pre-filter on the 441 and 660 work in the 461? Same filter so I would think that it would.

Maybe I'm missing something, but would it be that hard to take off the cover and knock off the filter every 4 or 5 tanks if you're running it non-stop over an 8 hour day? I'm very anal about maintaining my stuff but I haven't thought twice about this filter.

Yes. Same filter. And the outerwears for a 440/460/461/660 will work on a 261/362 saw as well. That oval 460 filter is about the same circumference of the round 261/362.

As for the decomp? It's nothing I would worry about. The decomp just doesn't have the plastic sticking up around it like on the older generation of saws (260 Pro on up to the big )

For under $10, this will let you cut all day. It doesn't stop 100%, but it's pretty easy to clean. Heck, once the saw shuts off and the suction stops, most of the big stuff falls off.

A lot better than letting it pack in between the pleats of the HD2 filter.

You can pick out of numerous colors.. I like the orange ;)

The outer wears would be great for the HD 2. I hate using them for milling.

It was a Christmas present from my wife.. I've definitely used it but I'm very particular about maintaining my stuff so it probably looks "less used" than it is..

    Yep... Sums it up. :D

They are cheap too. And they work on the 362 (new style) and 261 filters.
