For me, firewood comes home one truckload at a time, usually 1 or two a weekend. But I usually make it count.

This was back in the beginning of Nov. The red truck comes back to my place, the white one goes to my cutting partner's house.

All cherry for him, a mix of Cherry, a couple hunks of Ash, and mostly Silver Maple for me.

This was our most recent outing, brought home another truckload of silver maple on Sat.

That old red truck drives around town like a Honda Civic loaded like that. :smoke:

So ... What did you bring home?

Nice work MM. I will post a pic here of a nice big, straight trunk of a tree when I go get it home.

I cut 3 small (dump cart) loads of hedge last weekend, with a few chunks of hickory.

Too cold for deer hunting so I'm hoping to add to that over the next few days when I'm not eating turkey.

I just read a news article that said the typical American eats 4500 calories in their thanksgiving meal! LOFL

The typical Thanksgiving meal weighs in at about 4,500 calories, which is more than twice the recommended amount of daily calories for adult men and women. To put it into perspective, one Thanksgiving dinner is about the equivalent of seven McDonald’s Big Macs.
“Thanksgiving is a holiday and it’s meant to be enjoyed, so enjoy it. But there’s a difference between tasting everything that you want and gorging yourself. Yes, it’s fine to eat more than you would at a typical meal, but it’s much better to stay in the 800-1000 calorie range than the 4500 calorie range, which is as much as most women would need for two and half days,” says Frances Largeman-Roth, a registered dietitian and author of the upcoming cookbook, Eating in Color.
(MORE: License to Eat: Why You Shouldn’t Deprive Yourself This Thanksgiving)
Here is a rundown of how that meal compares to other high calorie favorites, thanks to Largeman-Roth and some of our own calorie counting:
    • 9 large boxes of fries at McDonald’s
    • 5 XXL Grilled Stuft Beef Burritos Taco Bell
    • 7 Whoppers from Burger King
    • 4 carnitas burritos from Chipotle
    • 2 medium pepperoni pizzas from Pizza Hut
    • 37 chicken drumsticks from KFC
    • 4 medium cookie dough blizzards from Dairy Queen
    • 16 snack boxes of popcorn shrimp from Long John Silvers
    • 11 Junior Bacon Cheeseburgers from Wendy’s
    • 10 classic Beef n’ Cheddar sandwiches from Arby’s
    • 48 traditional chicken wings with Honey BBQ sauce from Buffalo Wild Wings
    • One order of Fried Macaroni & Cheese, one order of Beer Battered Fish and Chips, and one order of Beef Ribs at The Cheesecake Factory
    • An order of Stuffed Mushrooms, Italian Sausage Flatbread, Fettuccine Alfredo, and Chicken Cacciatore at Macaroni Grill

Sure wish I could find some hedge here Luke. I could've cut some from my grandparents place in S. IN. but my wife's Terrain was already stuffed to the max. I would have had to stack on the roof!

I don't think I could eat 7 whoppers from Burger King. How come I can eat all the stuff at the Thanksgiving meal and then eat desert? Now wonder I can't move when I'm done!

No wood hauled home this week but was looking forward to splitting a little this weekend as I still have a lot to split. BUT we have about 7 or 8 inches of snow so that may have to wait also.

I seem to be pretty good at getting it down, bucked, and home. I even can get it split in a reasonable time frame. Just seems like it takes me for friggin' ever to get it stacked!

I got some of that split but not stacked stuff too. I took some over to the neighbor a couple weeks ago so somebody could get some of it stacked

When I say I'm bad about getting it stacked I might be understating that a bit. Until recently I had 10-12 cords split and not stacked......:emb:

Funny I had 4 cord piled not split or stacked until a few weeks ago. A long summer of no time lead to wood hoarders disorder. That splitter got a workout for a few weekends recently.
