Holy chit OldHippie! I'm glad no one was in that vehicle. Man. It is 5 degrees on my back porch right now and the boiler is eating through a bunch of Ash.
17 here. January cold. The 2400 is eating through a 1/2 load of oak after the overnight. I will stuff it full for the day at about 7:30.
It's 13* here now, glad the wind died down ,got a mix of ash & oak in the wood burner and Turman's in the pellet eater comfy 70* inside Looks like a good week to have off
yeah, I actually think it missed that car and the entire house, but the article didn't say anything about that. But look at the size of that tree! That shook the house when it landed!
12'F on Monday morning at 7:00AM. It got down to 10'F last night. Woke up this morning, with a full bed of coals in the Fv after I loaded it full of birch, maple and undetermined lighter split or two. Didn't get to bed last night till after midnight, due to the 5 period Patriots game. Gotta load it full before I head out today to Brooklyn. Will stay overnight at my daughters house and do a little shopping in NYC tomorrow. Picking up a new camera for me and few nice gifts for Mama in celebration of our 37th anniversary on Wednesday. (where did that time go! )?!! Bringing my daughter and the Royal Puppy back for Thanksgiving. It will be a great week with lots of gratitude at my house. Oh ya...we felt really bad about sending Peyton Manning and Wes Welker back to Denver with their tails between their legs, but that's what happens when you got Brady on your side.
Congrats on the anniversary. You still have "some" of those younger years in ya! Your just smarter and more experienced now.
I'm p#ssed. 17* this am and the edges of the house needed heat. I'll confess. put the thermostats in bedrooms and family room to 62*. God I hate needing to use the burner!!!!!!!!!the kitchen and living-dining room did hold to 62*. damm oil, wish we had a bigger stove, someday guess.
Yep... big night out for us these days is a nice dinner and shopping at the mall on Saturday night for one of the kids birthdays. But I wouldn't trade it for the world.
Congrats on all those years Steve! Your right, were do those years go... You got me beat, we just made the 34 year mark.. Met Maribeth while out on my Harley at a bar back 34 years ago... Who'd have thought we'd be together all these years! Went fast!
Currently 5 degrees here, it been January cold for a couple week now. Burning a lot of box elder and birch during the day, more elm as we get into the evening. Locust, mulberry and apple for longer burns when possible.
If you have a Roku you can add the channel for free by following this link or by going to your Roku account on a computer and entering the private channel code: FIREWOOD. I am in the process of getting it added to the Roku channel store, and when it has been added it will still be free. If you have no idea what a Roku is, it is a streaming media box that hooks to your TV and play internet based media-- many without subscription fees. We have bought five boxes for the house (living room and four bedrooms) and disconnected the cable about six months ago. Very happy with that decision.
