'Bout a foot, looks like a couple more inches before it's done. Currently a break in the action, but there's some more coming. And the wind is starting to howl.

I really would have gone to work. My route takes me south of Canton, OH, and it looks like there was more rain than snow there. Probably wouldn't be a bad day, but I can't get out. I haven't seen a plow since this morning, and they won't be by again until it's over.

Well we ended up with around 6", but once the rain started it knocked that stuff down to a slushy 3-4 inches. Now the bottom is going to fall out and temps are to dive into the single digits tonight, it's gonna be a MESS.....didn't get the sidewalks shoveled this morning before work so I'm gonna have to deal with ice when I get home.

The ice and slush here are miserable. I went to Mass this morning at a Catholic church on a hill. When I came out my Expedition had slid 25 feet down the street into a snowbank. I couldn't budge it even in 4wd, had to get it towed out.

Something like 5 inches so far... on track for 10-12 by afternoon. Schools closed and my office closed. No snow emergency however, all state offices, mail, etc as usual.

I got the same conditions as scotty, except its still drizzling and temps are supposed to drop this afternoon with another quick shot of light snow to finish. Work is closed. I guess i will go load the boiler and plow the lane now before slush freezes soldid.

    Work cancelled for the day.

Yes. I was in church and sat down and my car alarm went off. It does that sometimes when I sit because all the keys in my pocket push on the key fob and set off the panic button. So I just pushed the lock button on the key fob and the alarm stopped, as usual.

When I left Mass I realized it was the first time my car alarm ever went off for a legitimate reason. I was able to work it back and forth about 8 feet in 4wd high but I couldn't get it away from the curb. A guy with a big new Chevy 2500 with a plow tried to pull me up the hill and couldn't get it out, so he plowed out behind me and drug me downhill backwards.

We closed our office today too. Glad we did, I don't want my patients coming out in this mess.

Froze up already. Really hard on my old truck pushing that heavy stuff. Not to mention reverse gear slips hard so it is limited to flat areas and i dont have much of that!

This is the road just to the west of my house. No better the other way, but it didn't get this bad for a half mile or so.

My neighbor at the farm there just opened up a lane thru this mess so he didn't have to go pull anyone else out. I suppose I could go to work now, but I'll go in 24 hours late tonight.

I live on a main road. The high school is about 1.5 miles the other way. This road normally gets a lot of traffic. Haven't seen a plow since about 8am yesterday.
