I have a couple cords of short logs under a tarp that need slicing and dicing. I plowed and snowblowed near the pile enough room to get at it and a spot to work in but that's as far as I've got. I've stood out there in the cold and looked at it a couple times. Froze the ambition right out of me.

That storm is headed here I guess. Maybe another foot. We've had 31" so far in one week. My "fun" with all this snow ended yesterday. Blew out my back yesterday morning. Can hardly walk much less have fun in the snow... :headbang: Same old, same old... :BrianK: My son was just here on a visit and offered to come back on Tuesday to shovel/plow. Very happy for the help.

I am thankful that we have avoided heavy snows this season up here. I have 40 acres and approximately 1200 behind me that is tamarack/cedar swamp and I am allowed to cut in. TONS of standing dead wood. Only accessible during freeze up. Bought an atv this year on a gamble that I could use it all winter and get some wood in. So far it has worked out.

We got 8-9" today. It's drifting all over. We lucked out, to our south there was over a foot. Everything is cancelled tomorrow, which is nice.

Snow started at about 5am today and may get up to 16" by about 10pm tonight - this is on top of the 14" or so we got last Tuesday. Luckily, very cold for both snows (today is only going to get up to 12F or so) and very light and fluffy - easy plowing with the ATV. But, the woods are definitely closed at this point so won't be doing much cutting till next fall unless a good scrounge turns up. Mean dawgs on that saw - looks great! Cheers!

Just think folks, someone told me this afternoon that supposedly another storm just about like the one we just had and it is scheduled to hit here on Saturday night and Sunday. I wish him no bad luck but do hope he is wrong.

Take it easy my friend. Just a couple hours ago I informed my wife that I had just done the last of my shoveling. Just can't handle it any longer because of the back. So the scoop shovel is going to get put away. And to think, one time I ran a feed grinder going around to farms and I shoveled tons and tons of corn daily along with carrying 100 lb bags. Thought it was fun back then....

Thanks Dennis. I'm doing a bit better today. At least able to get the stove going again. I just go in very short spurts. You go easy too. Stay warm.
