I have been wanting to build me a dedicated wood shed for a while now so this kinda fell in my lap. Right now I store it in the barns but not really an ideal setup. There has been some changes made at work so a lot of racks and wire boards are being disposed of. This was all dumpster bound and me being a wood hoarder I couldn't let it go. There will be a total of 26 sheets of 3/4" 4 X 8 sheets, 95 sheets of 3/4" 3 X 8 sheets and around 200 8 foot 2 X 4's. All of the plywood is BC exterior grade but the 4 X 8 sheets have the corners cut off. needless to say I should be able to come up with something to use it all for. My only investment I have is about 10 hours of removing about a million screws to disassemble them and hauling home. This is just the first of many loads. 227.jpg 226.jpg

Am I ever jealous. Fantastic quality plywood. You can build a nice little house with that! That hoard represents a lot of money. If you haven't a use for it, I'm sure there are plenty of folks who'd like to buy it. Great save environmentally, too. Would be a shame to see all that good material junked.

    HJ,
    GREAT Score!!
Heck man you can build a garage out of that much. The 4'x8'x3/4" is $30 per sheet.
I have done the same thing about 20 years ago. I built a 22'x30' addition to my garage out of 90% salvage lumber. Just remember when your cutting things to wear safety glass because sure enough the nail or screw that's embedded is the one you'll hit. I also purchased alot of inexpensive saw blades to do most of the cutting. Also, be careful if you need an inspection for whatever your going to be built that the building inspector is cool with you using recycled. He should be but if the material isn't structural rated, he can be a jack___. if you know what I mean.
Just take your time you'll figure out how to use those cutoff ends. If I come up with something I'll post them.
    Again, way to go.

Right now I am the only one in that building. I volunteered to come in off the clock to dismantle if I got to keep the wood. There is a few more people getting some but only the easy stuff. They either have to dispose of or pay to store it.

Rough estimate only, but that's easily $2500-3000 worth of material. Maybe more.
    I'd do the same thing.

Papadave is right on the money... just checked my price sheets and my cost on that haul would be $3400... plus tax... I'd bet you could get 2-3K out of it selling on Craigslist... then you could get the materials you need to make a wood shed that will last... pressure treated lumber, metal roofing, and hardware.

Heck just rough figuring you could build a 20x24x8 building for that money (materials only)... but then you get into adding to property taxes, building permits and such.

I'm thinking a wood shed for a few cords and a new saw!:saw::cool:

HJ, you are a wise man and perhaps a bit lucky. No matter, you found a winner for sure in that haul. You'll make good use of it.
