Ok we put up a thread a while back, Dex and I were the ones to volunteer locations for a G2G. So I talked to him and we have 2 dates in mind May 30 and June 6. Location will be either Hartville where I have some land to use or Sullivan where Dex has land. Both are within an hour of each other. If you are interested in coming let me know. We learned a lot from the last few and are planning to have a cant set up for races and 3-5 other various sized logs for running saws, testing, ect.
Even though we spoke on the phone this morning, I will probably be out on the June 6th date I was informed that the Dirks Bentley concert is that day. We bought the Country Mega tickets this year. 8 shows at Blossom (Jason Aldean, Lady Atebellum, Rascal Flatts, Brad Paisley, and a few others) and the Luke Bryan concert at First Energy stadium (Browns stadium). 9 concerts for super cheap! May 30th is the weekend after Memorial day and the weather should be much nicer than last year's GTG's. May 16th was cold and wet and Oct 6th was wet and windy.. Anyone else can muster up an idea, but no one has come forward. Sean and myself spoke on the phone this morning and decided someone needed to start an agenda. As he said, I think we will have a much better set up this year. But before we can do anything, a date has to be set soon. So we can plan accordingly.
May 30 is probably out for me. It's looking like I'll be doing some volunteer work at that time, finishing up on June 3rd.
Anyone from here going to Chardon OH in April for races? If so PM me and let me know. Might try and hook up Sat or Sun.
Also... My property is abt 15 minutes from Chardon. I have no idea how these gtg's are set up.... But i can maybe figure out enough to maybe have a mini GTG . If a fella doesnt mind cutting Ash... Ash.... Ash... and Cottonwood !
A GTG is easy, just picture having your friends and family over for an all day party with chainsaws and cutting wood is the reason to party!
Hope I can catch up with some of you guys again, Swags and Dex both did a fine job last year. I should be able to set a couple hours aside for another one
About 12 of them total. Just something to do and to help others in off times. Shop has wireless when I am out there working too.
Looks like it will be about a 400 mile round trip for me, but I think I'm going to try to make this one. I'd like to meet a few of you guys in person.. So I can run your chainsaws!! Either date or location would work for me. And if any of you want to make the trip out this way, I'm hosting a huge BBQ on Memorial Day. Though there probably won't be much chain sawyering happening - unless you eat too much and we need to cut you free of your chair!
