What do you pellet heads think about this?

just for comparison sake, My 25PDVC (little bro to yours) on 1-1, 1-2, or 1-3 will push your hands away from it with the heat coming out.
No t-stat here and bottom 3 are 4-6-1, burning in "C" mode

 

You could also take the stat cover off and connect the 2 wires coming from the stove together.

 

This is true, and a handy idea in my situation of being so close to the wall.

I have now turned stove off, unplugged it, let it cool, cleaned it again, and plugged it back in and set it in Hi/Li mode. Thermostat set at 60. I will know soon if things get better. Stove is in start up mode and I have a large flame.

I said to the wifey the other day. "You know that thing was really hot to be near before. Now it is not." So I think I may have mistakenly done something wrong.

 

Large flame. Possibly from pellet build up in S U mode. We will see.

Ya. Had very large flame until the room blower turned on. Then it went way down. Almost seamed like the blower was to much air. Now it is up sometimes, but not very big, then pellets falling into pot knock it down some, then it comes back. Throwing some decent heat. I have to get back in the woods, cutting today. I will see what camp is like in four hours. On 7-7 it should be toasty warm if the problem is fixed.

 

IMO, to make sure the stove is burning correctly, I'd set it on On-Off for now....that way it can't go into Lo fire mode at all, unless the room temp on the stat is reached.
Once you see what it's supposed to run like on "high", then you could try switching back to Hi-Lo and observe.

 

Good idea. I will try that. The flames seem better now. But heat is not as hot as it should be. The heat does seem a little better than it was, but not as hot as it should be. I'm wondering about pellet quality now. The pellets are dropping in at a steady rate. The flames are there now. Maybe the cleaning helped? But the heat is still not hot enough. I'm going to grab three bags of something else and see if that makes a difference.

 

Those Timber heats burned great for me last year and I think imacman is burning them too ,possibly a bad batch .

 

I'm thinking "user error" on Gas...

Last time we knew, he was trying a different brand of pellets, but we don't know what.

 

Well. I am thinking not! Wife went down to camp to check on it while I was at work today. Camp was warm, stove running, all is well. I go down this evening when I finish plowing the road and parking area and I find the stove not running. Okay. Check pellets. Pellets almost all gone, none around the auger. So I move the remaining pellets to the auger and dump two more bags in. Cleaned glass on front of stove. Unplug stove and plug it back in to set it into On/Off mode like suggested by imacman. Plug stove in and push the two appropriate buttons, it says hi/low. Push them again it says 0/0. Good to go. Push ON button. Light above on button comes on. Nothing. Wait for a while. WTF? Push OFF button. No light comes on above OFF button. WTF? The lights are working on the panel. Except for the light above the OFF button. No noise comes on when you push the ON button. Not the OAK, not the auger, nothing. UGH! I did not have time to mess with it. Company coming in anytime. I unplugged it and left that way until morning. Turned electric heat on. I did not have my phone with me so I could not ask you guys this question. WTF? LOL
