What do you pellet heads think about this?

On a setting of 7-7 or 7-9, you shouldn't be able to hold your hands in front of the stove for more than a few seconds. If you can, something is wrong.

 

Are the pellets burning up completely? Kinda sounds like she's not getting normal air through the burn pot.

Then something is def. wrong. The heat is luke warm. Heat, but not heat.

 

So you mean when I thought I took it out of High/Low setting on thermostat, by turning power off to unit and starting it back up, that I ended up setting it in the Low setting? I thought if it was not operating off the thermostat that it ran in the settings you set on the two main buttons.

 

I don't have a stat so I can't help you, but again, I would look at that area first.

 

I took the manual back down to camp with me when I went down so I would have it. Left it there.

No, it doesn't. Control board has memory, and keeps same settings. Unless you change settings, or do a hard board reset, nothing will change.

 

If you disconnected the stat, you HAVE to re-insert the jumper, or as Dex said, it will just stay on lo forever. IMO, just reconnect the stat.

 

I did not disconnect the stat. Never touched the wire. I just thought I reset the stove when I turned the power off to it. But it sure acts and sounds like it is in low. When Dex said that it was like he hit the nail on the head. Something is out of whack. It is a brand new stat though. And the temperature gauge or thermometer on the bottom of it is working. Maybe I changed the settings. ?

 

I saved the jumper. It is in the bag with the manual. I am going to go through the steps of making sure it is in thermostat mode. Maybe I changed it back off of thermostat mode and didn't realize it. The stove is close to the wall and I can tell you it was difficult to get the wires in to the slots where they go where the jumper was. I wondered if I could have slid them in the wrong place. Like not between the right pieces of metal or something. I know they are in the right spot. I bet I changed the settings so it is not operating in thermo mode. Is it possible I changed the settings and it is in low? If it is not in thermo mode can it be in low or does it run on the two normal settings you set it on?
