size saw for firewood, how many CC's (any saw)?
Of my two saws, I'd have a hard time picking between my CS-520 at 50cc and my 036 at 61.5cc.
I'd probably go with the 036.

    I like a 20" bar.
Good reach & handles everything I cut,

To throw a full comp , 20" chisel chain, 60cc is minimum.
I opted for the husq 359 few years back, 12 lb power head.
    Swapped out the cat muffler.

    What you cutting,?
    what chain.?
    Average log diameter?

With the 2 saws you have, take both
Set the smaller one up for liming, safety chain
RS on the 036 to drop the rounds fast

Pete I didn't mean of my two saws, just pick a CC that you could compromise with. I'll edit to clarify.

Dave my two are actually set up the same. 20" bars with full chisel. I go to the 036 at about 16" logs-more power but heavier.

Got ya well if its power I'd have to say a 20" 61cc wins every time. That's a good range and you can stick an 18" bar on if you need a little more power. My main saw is a super 034 ( aka 036 ) and it handles just about everything. The old 46cc modified to closer to 50cc was good but not as good. In terms of light I did cut with a cs310 30cc for a year and it was slower but dang you can feel the weight difference on your arms at the end of the day. The slower part is what makes it tuff to do.

I think a 60 cc saw, with a chisel chain
Best if only 1 saw, 20". 3/8 x .050 (lots of off the shelf chin types)
Handles the small stuff. & fairly big stuff.
I mean , I'm just cutting firewood , around 10 cord per year

Yeah, 60 cc + 20" bar is the standard. I expect to see some 70cc or go home replies

I will say if I could I'd have a 79cc Dolmar or a CS8000 but that's cuz they are AWESOME! No real reason other than my manhood would love it.

One saw and one saw only? 562XP. Class leading power, almost as light as a 50cc machine. Stick a 20" Techlight bar on it and there's no reason you can't run that setup all day, every day.

    Yes, I just whole-heartedly recommended a Husky. Yes I did.o_O

I'm still waiting to see what they offer up for a 70cc AutoTune. And Stihl beat them to the punch on a 90cc AT/m-tronic.

These are good days to be a fan of chainsaws.

I'd go big, after cutting with the 460 it makes such short work of the big stuff I can handle it for limbing too. Man that saw really cuts down on time spent bucking up rounds.

    So 562xp over MS362.
Slight weight advantage and "advertised" power.
Who's run them side by side?

I'd be real interested in running a 562 up against the new 362 M-tronic.
