I use Stabil the moment I buy gas for all my small engines and run them all at least monthly. No issues so far. This LCT engine is the easiest starting engine I have ever owned. One easy pull and the choke comes right off. No complaints. I would think Ariens did their research before going with these engines. Even though it is a "home owner" line, I doubt they wanted to deal with a hit to their reputation.

I need to get some Stabil, and start using that in the mower and snow blower, because the gas can lasts us a while and I know that the gas is breaking down and no good for the carbs.

Nope, breaks down rather quickly. A friend of mine just dumped some older gas into his car because he ran out of gas in his driveway. A thousand bucks later his car is running again.

Ouch that hurts, can you use Stabil in your oil and gas mixture for the trimmer as well? We have a fairly small yard, so a can full of gas lasts us a couple of months at a time during the summer mowing months.

I do, but I believe most two cycle oils, if not all, have stabilizers in them.

OK I was under the same impression that the oil had stabilizers in them. Thanks man appreciate it.

  I have been fortunate with autocorrect on texting. Husband is going to the grocery store this afternoon, tried to text him I need an extra item. It read "Gorgeous RR ties" instead of dryer sheets

    Happy New Year!

Must a been geezer napping and slept right past it ey?

You will love the Ariens. Big and beefy. I bought my Simplicity 28" w/Briggs OHV some 8 years ago and Glad I did. Beast eats through everything but the super slushy chit. Only problem I've had with mine is the mice think its their home. Dang they love to nibble on the plastic that covers the wires.

We ended up with about 30" of snow here, maybe a little more. Did a first run with the snowblower at 7:00am, a second run at 4:30pm, and woke up this morning to another fresh 2" on the ground. The snowblower is a hydraulic up/down PTO drive unit mounted on the front of a 1986 JD 318 lawn tractor. Love that thing, it's like a tank! Weather folks are being a bit more "cautious" this time around, but preliminary reports suggest we may get more snow on Monday. Have heard 5-8" and 8-12", but who knows maybe well just get a dusting? Wishful thinking.
