I started today with: $267 in groceries at Sams Club $155 at the liquor store for two cases of beer and two bottles of champagne $48.00 at a local supermarket for stuff they don't sell in Sam's Club On the menu tonight is chili made with skirt steak. 12 lbs of wings are marinating in fish sauce, brown sugar, garlic ginger scallions and chili paste (that's for tomorrow). Jeebus! $155 for 48 beers and 2 bottles of champagne? What kinda beer? That sounds like blizzard pricing at its finest! I'm live in Indiana, and the only squawking on the TV involves some flat footballs which I'm sooooo tired of hearing about. The only cooking going on is my brain since I am at work. Drink one for me! The champagne is Moet.....not cheap, but delicious. And it makes the wife frisky, which was why I bought it.

If you're going to be stuck in the house a few days, you might as well make the most of it. I knew the bubbly would be good stuff seeing the bill for the liquor store. Have you ever had Roederer, or schramsburg bubbly? Usually half the price of moet or veuve clicquot at ~$20 a bottle. Both of these are Californian, and roederer estate is the owned by Louis roederer, the same that makes Cristal in France that is $200 a bottle. Roederer has been served for US presidents for many years. It's great bubbly, made here, without the cost. It's like pocketing $20 every bottle.
Ha! NJ actually had a baby boom 9 months after hurricane Sandy so your blizzard baby theory is quite accurate. Horkn, I'll give Roederer a try.....finding good booze is always a treat!
Looks like some good eats are going to happen at your place. Got some fish sauce marinade going here also. Pork tenderloin, fish sauce, lime, sugar, garlic and pepper. Going to cook it tonight on the gasser. And I got a sixtel of Defiant Brewing Abominable Snowbeer in the fridge (sixtel=1/6 keg=about 5 gallons)
We got a whopping 5 inches and the snow has stopped, however, there is a travel ban in NJ which precludes driving until the ban is lifted by the Superintendent of State Police. Oh well, the "Blizzard that Might Have Been". At least I have a truckload of food and booze.
The wife made a chili in the crockpot today. That will be good for last night and tonight. Hmmm.... Outside of that, the girls are planning to bake today. We are having homemade Belgium waffles this morning. Which will be great after snowplowing our driveway.
Dag Nabbit! It had stopped snowing during the middle of the night (I was up peeing and drinking water after downing double-digit beers). Well, it started snowing again about three hours ago and we've gotten prolly another three inches and it's not supposed to stop until at least 4:00 PM. I had planned on plowing the driveway, but that will have to wait until tomorrow morning. Beer # 1 almost gone. Fish sauce wings go on around 4:00PM.

Might have increased the rate of evaporation leading to more snow.... in Boston! What's your total accumulation? I for one miss the REAL snow back in the old days on the north shore of LI.
