    Scotty this is your FHC man... you know I'm ready.. I feel for Ray and IS who are in the same zone but have to go out in it due to work.. I have the luxury to stay in and work from the house.

    The only question mark for me at this point is will I need to test the Tacoma's snow handling to go rescue my MIL if her power goes out :)

    LOL, there are at least 10 ads for snowmobiles in the utv section of Craigslist this morning.
    Just about anyone who has a snowmobile here has a trailer to take it up north where there is snow to be able to use it.
    A hay field just isn't quite as much fun as snow to justify owning one.
    A snowmobile ad is rare.

    We barely received 1" last night, rained for over 3 hours to start. I guess they are calling for more today, but the totals went from 4-8 to 1-3 :(

    I'm not worried at all, well prepared here.

    I feel bad for all the average folks that dont think ahead. My town facebook page is full of desperate folks asking for driveway plowers, help with snowblowers that wont start, wanting to know where to buy a generator, where to get firewood bundles, looking for a fuel oil fill up, asking which grocers have milk and eggs. I was at the hardware store this morning buying extra ice melt and the owner told me shovels are flying out the door.... he didn't get it either... really you live here and dont own a shovel??

    We got about 5" here in Johnstown, more expected later today and tonight, but most of this storm is passing east of us.

    I miss my snowmobiles. This was a 1995 SkiDoo 440 Touring. My kids are now 22, 20 and 18, and my oldest two are on the sled with me in this photo:

    Horkn, it's an old 1974 Chaparral SSX 340. They were highly advanced motors for their time, CDI electronic ignition, reed valve, liquid-cooled........and pretty fast for their weight.

    I wrecked mine last year and it was so busted up that I needed another chassis....found two sleds near Pete this past fall (one complete and in very good condition, the other had some issues), so I'm using the lesser of the two as a donor chassis for my good motor. I'll restore the better one sometime down the road. I'll make a thread when I get a chance my friend....I'd hate to derail this thread about the weather.
