swamp(red) maple a couple of red oaks, a grey birch or two filling a 30 yard 4 axle dump truck not sure how much is there, should be two cords anyway mostly three or four footers no bog pics but the load just got delivered doesn't look like much in the dark red maple's not the greatest but it was free we got the road along the bog cleaned out so they can get bigger equipment in to sand the bog (was overgrown pretty bad)
Looks like a day well spent Bill. I guess we are in for a good one Tue. best cover it or it will be under 2' of snow. :-(
Yeah, frozen melted snow and beat them apart with a maul is so much fun. I have tarps from covering the roof when I replaced the asphalt shingles a year and a half ago. I've been tempted to use them as a shelter from the rain and work under them. Every two or three drops from the tractor bucket into the truck we'd climb in and knock as many over to get them facing fore and aft or there'd be an awful lot of air space and a big tangle. Figuring they'd also slide out better at dump. We loaded in over the gate though so the first dump attempt there was a log jamb and we had to unload the top couple feet by hand. Can't tell from the pic but we had to throw off the sides of the dump so the pile is fairly wide. Will have to fix that this morning before the tarps. Also so I can plow the snow away next to it. I really don't want to be c/s/s/ this in June.
Yep that's a nice pile of firewood. I really learned to appreciate the soft maple this year in the warm spells.
