I know there are battery backed up sump pumps, but in the spring, the pump would beat up that battery!

I've got one with a battery backup. Basement watchdog. Works great. The battery is a deep cycle. Or is it ago? Idk, but it was put to the test in spring a couple years ago. Rain, and no power with bad gutters had it going hard core. They aren't cheap, but they really work.

We've come home to an occasional surprise in that department. Sucks, cuz no matter where we are, if it starts raining or lighting or windy, she starts to obsess over whether or not the pump is flooded with no power!
Maybe the deep cycle battery back up would be the way to go.

I spent all day cutting and gathering wood. I'll start another thread. Its gotta get unloaded from the trailer and stacked now. Clipper is coming about midnight. With 30 mph winds and heavy snow. Not much snow I guess, 2-3".

I'm beat, watching TV, surfing on FHC, and letting the aleve work. Anyone wanna help unload and stack?

You're a bit too far for me to help! Don't worry about the "clipper" tonight. 30mph winds will prevent the snow from landing!
Just do a quick stack tonight and touch it up another day, then you'll be able to relax better.

Woo hoo my knee stings! Lil one was on a tall stool next to me this morning, leaned too far over trying to hug the dog and went down. I somehow caught her hand so she didnt land head first on the floor, but now my knee is bruised and skinned. I forgot how it feels!

Time for a new one, fishingpol!
Saaaaay, what does everyone consider a toboggan? A sled, or a hat? Sorry fishingpol, not trying to hi jack, as I'm sure you had some kind of cover on yer head! Just thought I'd put this question out there, since it's sledding time(not here tho, 'cuz the weatherman is drunk!)

Niiiiice, lukem! Who else has a take on this? Being a relocated yankee, I was taken a little aback here in Wytheville, Va that it meant hat!

I looked out the front window this AM just in time to catch my wife and three year-old on their last run (sledding) down our private road. They were cruising too!
