Welcome Willywil. My parents have the same insert. Theres a good chance your 2 cords (Sandy wood?) will last you into November or December, depending on when you stop burning this spring and start up again in the fall, so you got a good head start. And like others have said, start finding more wood. Some of the guys out there on the Island have had good luck getting it from tree services. Depending on where you are you might have luck with free drop offs also.

Lots of tree company's by me on the north shore. I just had a small delivary last weekk that I split with my buddies.

Most of my stacks are pre sandy locust and red oak. I still have s little hickory left. Man, I would pay for hickory, love it.

I agree, hickory is my favorite. Maybe because that's what we have the most of? But there's also ironwood at my parents lot that burns nicely too.

Willy, welcome. I agree, the 2 cords should last you until serious weather next winter.

Horkn: understatement of the year: "ironwood...burns nicely too." I've finally gotten to some ironwood, after 2/5 cord of sugar maple. Almost all the rest of the cord is ironwood, but almost all the wood I have stacked for next year is sugar maple. I'm contemplating leaving the rest of this cord for the colder days next winter and moving on to my next cord....
