IHP.....real quick, you can shoot Mike your serial number and see why it was returned....that is unless you bought a blemish unit.....and don't forget to register it right away online.

Woke up to 1/2" water in the bathroom and down the hallway  He reused the old water line from the icky toilet, mastic didn't hold   Trip to town, new line leak fixed. Now the floor is soaked and wobbly:picard:. That entire bathroom is scheduled for a total gut this summer, cross your fingers the floor drys and holds til then :)

IHP- Nice choice in stove. Keep us updated. My dealing with Andy at AMFM was a pleasure as well. Super nice guy and we chatted for awhile.

Wildwest- Sorry to hear about the water. Praying the floor holds up till the overhaul :)

Delima, wife and I have some physical limitations and it hasn't gotten any better. My youngest son has offered to move him and his family in. He wants to occupy the main living area and we live in the finished basement. We spend 90% of our awake time there now. There is a half bath, den, family room with our pellet stove, bedroom and an utility area with the furnace and hot water heater and may wood working tools in there. We also have an attached sun porch and a patio off the entrance. Three side of the house are only in the ground three feet and one end is higher than the outside ground level. Normal windows and doors. Good ceiling height. Would have to put in a kitchen area and a shower. The down stairs is 26x40 and the upstairs is 28x40 also with a deck and screened in porch.
He has a wife and two young children. He things this arrangement would allow us to stay here longer. And it would be a safe place to raise the kids. Lots to think about. Pluses and minuses. My parents lived like that with my younger brother. I know that protected my mother long after Dad passed. Your thoughts?

When you say basement, is a walk out to where your vehicles are? I would have trouble going up and down the stairs.

Also, are you two getting over the respiratory virus, I head it was a doosy this year.

And it sounds like a generous offer on both your parts, son/parents, win/win :)

Hell Larry, our thoughts don't matter. It's what you and the missus think. If you think you'd be happy that way then go for it. It's some extra security for you and some extra help keeping the place up. 26x40 is bigger than the main floor of my house, so you have room enough. Like you said, lots to talk about.

    We are over the crud.
The basement is two steps higher than the paved driveway. Our car is in the detached garage.

Yes, filled with oppertunity, good and bad. I'll keep the deed. I don't want a divorse to result in us loosing our security. I do like my pease and security, but heck, if I pass on, my wife would be in a hell of a mess.

You have many years on most of us and your wisdom and knowledge is beyond what I could even comprehend Larry.

With that said, being my children are younger now. We would only hope that when we are older? They will return the favor.

There will be give and take for both of you living together. But in the end, it should benefit both of you.

Just to throw it out there.... If anyone has a Menard's in their neck of the woods, I just picked up a bag of heartland pellets for $3.72. Plus they have an 11% rebate going on till Saturday. That takes them down to $168/ton.

I'm not real sure if all Menard's carry heartland, but it's worth looking into anyway.
