Lol, I have 2 rooms that have a long run to them...30ft maybe.
They are insulated but located in a non heated garage Sheetrock ceiling. I am only worried about those really. Hope the heat makes it. Going to pick up some tstat wire today and should complete that today or tomorro. Then more fun time making a damper in a cramped space ....yaaaa

This is the plenum above the AC coils on the Furnace. It's pretty big and blocked by the flue in the front. The back is against a wall. I have semi access to it from the side. I noticed a smaller section before entering the heat supply duct, maybe a transition. Going to peel back some insulation and check it out. Looking for easiest way to drop a sheet metal damper in, that should stop hot air from going into furnace and up the flue heating the night away!

I agree. I think his Install should be one of the better ones.

Ivanhoe, you did a great job as well.

Myself and 343amc I think were in a different boat. We were the pioneers of the trials and tribulations of the furnace. As we went along, we learned and got better, as did the furnace and its ability to heat our homes.

    Congrats to both of you!

Figured you did it to look pretty, but you were having trouble with heat.Sounds like it is working ok now,But I would do the factory mods first and try.

So I ran the wires from the tstat yesterday, red and white from tstat to board. I noticed board was stamped +12v and heat. The thermostat says millivolts and runs on two AA batteries. Hopefully it will work.

I am using a different tstat from Q1.
The Honeywell was reading temps up to 5 degrees too high after a few hours.
The Q1 matched my oil tstat exact plus it has a 2 degree swing so its set.

Ok so I got to start it just now, I have been watching it. I noticed it cycles the blower on for few minutes then off.
I have it in tstat mode. As of now it says stabilizing tstat on the LCD.

When the blower stops it's very quiet and I guess it goes to pilot because I don't see the high flames any more. Does this for a few minutes then I hear a fan and hear air being sucked in and I get the violent flame back. How long does this cycle last before it runs until tstat shuts it to pilot??

Ok it's in Running tstat mode. Now the tstat is calling for heat but furnace is still in pilot. I see small flame and blower kicks on every few minutes and shuts off after a few but the tstat is still not satisfied. Shouldn't the furnace be high flame and blower running until tstat reaches temp?

Just curious, saw that at the store. Trying to get the furnace to run properly. It seems to not go into any level other then 1 even on manual.

Green Supreme are not very good in my opinion.

As for the furnace? The stat may not be right.

Have you put it in manual and set it to level 3, 4, or 5? It takes about 5 minutes before you see the full effect of the new heat setting.

As for the distribution blower, it should run constantly when the furnace is calling for heat.

Also, the control panel should say what mode it is in and whether the tstat is calling for heat or not.

Where is your damper set? The intake damper should be wide open and close it an 1/8" then let it sit for 15, close, let it set, close, etc.. When the flame gets lazy and sooty, you need to open it back up.

I am still running out my LP tank, so I am no help with pics.

I would set it to Manual, open intake damper 100%, and check your air On/Off temps.

To see what your blower on/off temps are, remove the small cover on the upper left side (when facing front of furnace , then remove the silver shiny cover that says Honeywell. Behind that is 3 pins on a dial.

The first on mine is the blower "Off" Temp. It's set to about 100°. Below 100° and the air feels cool coming out of the vents. The second is the blower "On" Temp. It is set to about 150°. Any higher and the registers get hot. And the 3rd (says to slide it all the way to stop) is the High temp cut off. I have mine set a little lower than what they say is necessary, just for safety sake.

All installs are different. Your furnace may need a higher or lower on or off temp. But it's something you will have to adjust and play with. Trial and error.

Thanks Dex, I put the furnace in manual and on level 4 and the blower still runs and turns off in minutes. The LCD still shows level 4 when it sounds and looks like level 1 when the blower shuts off. It's NOT continuously running for sure.

The damper is set at Factory setting. The screw is stopping it from being closed too much. I can however open it and slowly close it until it hits the screw.

Looks like pin 1 is set at 100, pin 2 is 140ish and pin 3 is 200

What's funny is I put it to level 5 and check the switch to take the above pic. The cover is still off and this is the longest the fan EVER ran. Stop watch says 15 minutes and counting.

That door and cover is still off, flame gets high at times but not constant. But even the low flame is violent. It's not lazy for sure

Fan is kicking on and off because the flame is on a lower level. Not enough heat to maintain above minimum setpoint. Good to hear things are coming along. Isn't to be broken in on a steady heat?
