No idea - it was at a GTG this past fall. Memory tells me most of what he had was Oak & Maple, but he had a lot of wood, so just about anything could have been in there!
Nice log and bar What kind of saw is that?? Looks different And please tell me that didn't turn in to fire wood lol
Thanks I hope it turns out nice It's the first big one I will have made It's 5 feet at the widest point
It's a Stihl 090G. It has a 2:1 gear reduction so it makes monster torque. Probably looks different because of how much it sticks out in the front due to the gearbox. Although you said I shouldn't tell you, yes, it turned into firewood...
I dug these out of the back of a trailer full of chainsaw stuff. The top one is a 72", the next one is a 58", then a 50". For reference, the four on the bottom are 36". I ended up selling them because I really don't have any use for them.
Does either of the 3 longest ones fit large mount Mac's by any chance? Hoping to get my tax refunds in about 3 weeks....
Yep. They all fit big Macs, but I sold them all to another guy a few months back. The two long ones had new chains, too! I think I still have a 42", though.
Ive got a 32" GB Titanium on the way... For a saw I dont even have yet. But ill be prepared now ! LOL
I'm working on a trade for a 50" to fit mid stihl/large husky. Just have to find something to pull it with.
If you're serious I recommend either the 285CD (a little older) or the legendary 288XPW (about the same age & a little newer). But if you really want to step into the big leagues than its the 2100CD or its 2nd & last version the 2101XP.
I couldn't imagine having to actually use that thing to drop trees with... The flex borders on nuts, but if ya poked in on one side and worked your way across, I guess it could be done.. The mill should keep it relatively level... We hope..
