i read on the proboard site that someone else had this problem. Im not sure what the deal is but for some reason this forum is blocked at the office ? its the only one i have personally run across that is ? Not sure its cause club is in the name or what ? maybe some security settings of the site ? Maybe because its brand new ? id like if someone could lookinto that. i know yoy have no control on my end and the filters but NO other forum i have been to before has been blocked.?
Every site other than about half a dozen "approved vendors" (Grainger, McMaster, MSC, etc...) is blocked where I work. (At least they are for the hourly employees) They say we're not actually supposed to be browsing forums while we're on the clock. Huh.
Same here. Our web filter and firewall can block any site that is a discussion forum. Or any other host of things for that matter. We're pretty lenient on what we block. There may be a full access exception rule or two in place for certain internal IP ranges on our network.
Nothing on this end is blocking it.....I'm betting your filters at work are blocking it. I know that's how it is at my work. Really REALLY hard to get internet access and when you DO have it, they keep a log of where you were perusing.....and people have gotten FIRED for misusing the company computer for many different things.... Like Jack said, thank God for smartphones!
Might not be the popular thing to say but, You shouldn't be surfin on someone else's dime. Just sayin.
understood bit just found it odd. i use the phone mostly. but had not seen it on a pc yet as im lazy at house and just use phone , wanted to see how it looked on a real computer
Yeah, if I use company Wifi (not that I tried?) ops: It doesn't go through. The certificate isn't trusted because it's a Forum. He'll, I can't even use Google. So I just up'd my data plan and use my Data unless I am at home.
Yeah, well, given the idiot jerk I work for, I'll spend all the time online I darn well please! (Uh ... Yeah, I am self employed. )
