Light snow for a couple hours now, not in forecast. Super high winds, bending the sliding glass doors to the point of vibrating the floors, fun night :)

I've been playing "getting the trac, and vsc off" dash lights off my wife's 4runner. Emissions test due middle of February and despite the engine light not being on, our local emissions testing facilities can't pass your car with any lights on the dash on (even abs, traction, etc that have nothing to due with engine emissions) they won't read past them and you fail, meaning you can't register.

    It's not a fun or easy game.:hair:

Bummer, my Blazer is "collectors vehicle"  emissions not required :)

PS, my husband would boggle his eyes over the electrical in my newer truck and take it to a mechanic (though he could disassemble and reassemble our older one).

I got my Audi to pass last year when my plate was due. If anyone here knows about Audi and VW's, you'd know that the engine light on those is pretty much continually on. Lol.
I spent a lot of time on the forums, but I did it myself, no extra charges to pay technicians.

The yota has been trouble free, until I had new tires installed last fall. Then as the wife was driving home, these lights popped on.

Holy crap, I'm away from FHC for a couple days and I'm 4 pages behind on this thread.
8 degrees here this morn. The IS is cranking out some decent heat. I also decided to light my backup today, the jotul 602. This little stove helps heat the rear addition, which has 6 windows and a door in it. Keep warm!

Good morning, dark and 33 with coffee.
I went to a woodlot down the road yesterday with a neighbor, "Cattle Baron", aka: "Holy Moley"..worked up a skinny load of Ash and Hard Maple. He's a beer can pick up truck wood selling professional!
That guy has places to cut far'wood all over this side of the county, cutting wood close to home is always good. I also took Hippie Bob some wood for his man cave.
Making ready for the workhouse, you folks have a good day.

We held out til we moved here 2 years ago too Jack. I bet I crow about how clear HD stuff we watch now is, 10 times a day. Glad we're able to enjoy it now while we can still appreciate it. My Mom's eye sight was so bad, the last 10 years of her life, she'd sit a couple feet away from a huge TV just to sorta see outlines of stuff. Only negative I've found with our flatscreen is the really bad audio. Hooked it to our decent stereo with an analog to digital box and... works great. Good luck with yer shoppin' trip.

Today will mostly be filled with taking care of the little ones and taking them to events they have to go to. Hopefully I can get in the woods later this afternoon from 3:00-dark and cut some wood.

My Subie had a faulty roll connector so I replaced it myself. Problem was the Christmas tree on the dash. I went to a mechanic to use his diag tools to reset and reposition until the lights went out. Without those computers, you are hosed nowadays. $60 after I kicked him some cash for his tools including the parts, a dealer would have been $100 just to park the car in their garage.

Finally got around to installing one of the led lights that the mrs got me for Christmas on the ranger. They were two for $30 on Amazon and let me tell you they're freakin bright. They have a metal body and they're only 18watt a piece so not much draw on the battery. Thought I would need both on the back but one is plenty enough. No more loading wood in the dark :D

I fell 10 pages behind somehow.... oh well, reading to do.

We have a new addition to the family. Late Christmas present for the kids and I'm hoping to start teaching them a bit about responsibility getting them involved in the upkeep... we shall see. Brings back memories of when I had a tank as a kid :)
