Sitting @ 0-f right now they say we will see -18f tonight. Got both stoves humming along on some shoulder wood. House is sitting @ 73 right now. Tonights loads will consist of hard maple and red oak. Everybody stay warm tonight.
27f here in little old Winchester, headed for 24, if AccuWeather.com is to be believed. We have a real hodgepodge in the rack for tonight. Oak rounds, elm splits, and a few pieces of Slab wood. A quick reminder to check your antifreeze and oil before you start your car in the morning. My eldest was stupid about this, and it cost her a thousand bucks today. Stupid ought to hurt, but Daaaaang. ...
Heading for 10º tonight so they say.....have some cherry and elm in the stove right now. Tonights burn will be mostly red oak and beech.
Yep! 25 now, headed to 15 as the low. Nothing the PH is scared of. . I love the stove, runs great for me, couldn't be happier!
Currently 25°F going down to 7°F, but another site saying 15°F for a low. Pretty good wind gusts, so maybe single digit wind chills. Loaded with pin oak as usual...... Very crazy temperature swings through next week. We got rain, snow, and freezing rain forecasted over the next 2 weeks. Hopefully mother nature/old man winter blanket us with some decent snows soon. These nuisance storms suck!
It was -4 the last I checked, just burning down some coals before I load it up with Beech for the night. It's still 72 up here and the sleepers still 68,that's just with the wood stove but tonight will be colder so I'll turn on the pellet stove so we have both going.
Now at 3 here right now. Boiler just loaded to the max and time to hit the hay. I think I will get 7.5 hours out of this load. Mostly large Ash splits. Some small Maple in there as well.
6 degrees outside this morning.... Checked and fed the dragon every couple hours last night....Kitchen is 77...basement is 100 The Dragon had a diet of Oak, Maple and Birch....some 22 inch long rounds were 6 inches accompanied by one 4 or 5 inch rounds placed on each side. Stove pipe thermometer stayed in the yellow section, stove top temp mostly around 500 degrees.
Currently at 7 with winds subsiding. Three year old locust and oak taken from the "select" stack for these particularly cold days.
-10 on the back porch. Ash going in the boiler. Burn through a good amount of wood in these temps. Glad it's warming back up tomorrow. Time to clean everything out in the boiler and the pipe to the chimney.
15º When I got up @ 6:30, 72 in the upstaris living room. I've trying to burn down a big pile of red oak and beech coals. Supposed to hit 42º today and we are going car shopping, probably still load pretty heavy as not sure how long we will be gone, we,ll do breakfast and maybe dinner out today. Everyone enjoy your day !!!!!!!
First is the list of things you need to do, then you can start on the list of things you want to do, but don't forget about the things that she needs you to do, then work on the things that she wants you to do. Oh and if you need help us fellow wood hoarders can come up with a list of things you need to do, but forget about the things you want to do.
-3 with a very colorful sunrise. 66 in the house. Cleaned the vertical section of chimney last nite because the woodchuck was drafting wonky. Waited till this morning to clean the horizontal section. She be purring now with oak and cherry .
