Up to 30 today, 75º in the house when I got home from work with the bright sun we had today. Loaded about 3/4 full with silver maple, cherry and ash. Only supposed to go down to high teens tonight. Taking the afternoon off tomorrow and going after some red oak and maybe a little of something else.
20 degrees tonight so we'll just click on the Pellet Stove. I'll take the ashes out of the wood stove tomorrow morning, I think it will be -18 tomorrow night so we'll run both.
Ya I see that about Friday night. Another cold one. Almost a bug killer. Hopefully sometime in January or February we will get a couple of really cold ones for the E.A.B. to have a party they will be dying to get to!
According to Accuweather, 22 F feel of 8 at 1AM, dropping steadily to 9, feel -15 by noon, continuing to drop to -15 F actual temp tomorrow night. with wind too - didn't check real feel for tomorrow night. Guess I'll bring some more sugar maple in. Waiting now for coal bed to burn down enough to load some maple. Lots (maybe two gallons?) of coals left from three sugar splits I loaded at 4 PM...one piece was still in split shape until I broke it down.
Right at 28º this morning. Going to feel balmy out there compared to the last few days. Some snow coming down along with some wind which will make it feel nice on the face when I go to work. LOFL! Gotta love winter.
About 10 for us this a.m., and 65 in the living room. Just put in a load of Oak, for the early fire. Due for 14 today. That's an easy day keeping the house warm.
We're sitting at 11.3, I started a fire in the wood stove this morning after shutting the pellet stove off and taking the ashes out, the living room is 73, the sleepers at 68 and the basement should be around 79. Getting ready to load up some Cherry before I go out to put the chains on the back tires of the rhino for the rest of the winter.
Made a couple pies this morning, which helped warm up the back of the house. Just reloaded the stove and the house is getting back up close to 72 and rising. 16 outside.
Temp is dropping quickly. Isn't it?! Was 28 this morning about 6. Now down to 10 at 3:15 this afternoon.
We're going back down to about zero again tonight, and then back up to 31 for the next 2 days. I really don't like roller coaster rides.
We are at 8 F and windy, going down to -12 or so overnight. Crisp out there, but beautiful, with bright sunshine and sparkling snow. We only have about four inches of powder in the woods, maybe 2 inches of powder on my road away from the tire tracks and footprints. Very little snow for us for this time of year. My road has only been plowed once.
We hit 7 already, after coming in from the outside I headed downstairs to check on the fire, it's 83 in the basement and 73 up here. The wife baked some bread along with cooking some chili for tonight.
Yup. And you guys down there will be able to go barefoot in the sand on the beach in May as well. We will still be having evening fires to take the chill off. LOL
