Nice avatar. I didn't know Honda made a TurboDiesel Sport Touring bike [/quote]

Yep. The low end torque out of that 5.9 Diesel really pulls that bike along!

Brian, wait until you close the windows, you'll really like the heat... Looks almost like it burns like the PH.. amazing how much heat comes out of stove with a big glass door... I noticed the same thing going from the Fireview to the PH.. Big glass allows tons of heat to radiate out.. sounds like you'll be heating your home nicely on low... Oh yeh, don't forget to close the windows before you go to bed tonight :p

Yeah, we just buttoned the place up. I'm opening the air up and burning down what's in there, and I'll reload after 11:00 for the night. Tomorrow we're heading down to Front Royal VA for the day to visit my oldest son at college and take in one of their plays so we'll get to see how it does on a long medium low burn while we're out of town.

I've noticed when I hold my hands the same distance from the top and front of the stove, there is more heat coming out of the front, even during a full cat burn.

Looking great Brian. Should be plenty cold in the wee hours of the morning.

I'd prefer it if he came home to a hot stove.

Well he might not want to stuff the stove full for the first time and leave the house,, I'd want to be there to watch what's going on as part of the learning curve..

Yeah I wouldn't stuff it on the first night. But in the morning I would!

    Oops!

We just had company stop in and I decided to go ahead and load up the stove now. I just put six long fairly large splits in there that I never could have fit in my Fireview.

Yeah, it was not completely full but it was a good load, mostly cherry, one piece of locust.

Stove top got up over 500 real quick after reload from being around 300. I progressively cut back air after reload. I just cut air control back to about 90% closed 15 minutes ago and have a few lazy secondaries burning at the top rear of the firebox with stove top temps at 450. Outside temps down to 24, windy, inside temps at 70 now.

With the shape of the firebox, I'm thinking 2 layers N/S and fill the top E/W.

There's a little bit of brown soot on the bottom left of the door glass in the last photo I posted above. Strangely enough I get soot when the air is wide open and none when the air is medium or low. I expected the opposite.
