Nice having the right tools for scrounging now.... Sliced up this nice STRAIGHT (bout time I got a straight tree!!) 30" round, rolled the 18" rounds over to the splitter, split and plopped in truck. Unloaded right onto a stack, where it will stay for 3 years at least...

    Pass the Alieve please!

Oh, that's cause it was down up against the frame. ;) There is nothing left of the shocks and springs, I have to do something with that....

Nice looking load Mach. I headed out to take down a sizeable red oak about 2:45 today. After looking at it again I decided not to put it on the ground at that time of day and dropped a cherry instead. I have to take out what ever I drop or it might not be there when I get back and I surely am not going to leave an oak laying.

Nothing better than straight grained red oak :D

Putting that 150 through it's paces, I like it :dex:

Ok, I just calculated what this stack ended up being. Who wants to guess how much wood is in the back of my truck? 1 full truck load with the bed extender installed, stacked tight and neatly.

EDIT: I'll post the question in a new thread/....

I can almost smell the vinagery goodness right there! I love red oak. Nice thing about that size is you get a lot of splits without bark on them, cuts down on the mess!

That's a great description of what is smells like! Never herd it put that way, it is "vinagery" when fresh cut... and my entire back yard has that smell right now, STRONG!

Machria , we have the same splitters. I remember talking to you about them awhile back
How is working out for you these days?
Mine is buried under the covered porch for the winter, I wanted to keep the driveway clear
    this winter for the snowblower.

Working great, haven't had any issues at all with it. You? I love how light it is, makes it easy to move around. This straight oak was splitting real easy though.
