Lol I filled a complaint with Michigan pellets out of Holland and was told it was my stove. They asked what stove I had then said it in so many words it was junk.. Funny everything else has burned good except main woods those where aweful. I have put at least 12 brands through it to see. They didn't want or ask for pellets back.

Great customer service on GS part. They could have went with the ol it's your stove excuse too. Which sometimes it is.
I bet all testing is the same sample size. That's why I consider the results they publish not very useful. A couple pounds out of tons isn't a significant sample size.

I don't think they burn hot enough to generate clinkers.

While they burn hotter than pro pellets so far… I will wait a few days to say for sure about the ash but they don't look to be any worse than pro pellets yet.

I saw someone at Menards last weekend loading up a flat cart with the Michigan (Holland) pellets. I felt sorry for that poor soul who would be trying to keep warm this week burning those.

If Menards has them (and nothing else) and has a decent sale, I'll pick up 10 or so bags for days when it's in the mid 30s. Save the better stuff for the cold days. $3.75/bag is my cutoff point.

They have 2 plants in NY.....Deposit plant is only 2 yrs old or so.....had LOTS of startup problems and pellets were terrible. Not sure about this year. The other plant is up in Schuyler. Pellets from there weren't much better. Best bet were the NH pellets.

    Yes. Pro Pellets =Magic Sparks

Surprised by your review of the ProPellets....Eric at Kinsman sells them exclusively and swears by them, and I've read mostly good reviews on them.

I do like them and am not trash talking. I I havnt had a single clinker and have been able to run clean with them. I have had the auger jam twice on very long pieces in the propellets but that was an easy clear. I just pushed a stick up the shoot and out they came. Over all I really like them.

I think I'm just suprised at the heat output difference.

My biggest complaint about the Green Supremes: Inconsistency. This is the only brand I have burned where I have seen inconsistent results even between bags that came off the same pallet. Having said that, they usually produce decent heat. The last batch I bought was at the tail end of last season. Heat was fine, but the ash was just like in T-BONE 's picture above. Very heavy coffee-ground like ash output that accumulates so quickly in the burnpot, it's difficult to keep up with it. It causes lazy flame in 6-8 hours. These became "weekend only" pellets for me because that's the only time I am available to keep the burnpot sufficiently cleaned off!

FWIW - I am having the same experience with the second small batch of Stove Chows I picked up at HD last year. The first batch was fantastic heat, ash not too bad. Second batch, heat is still fantastic, but the ash has turned into an every 6 hour burnpot scraping affair. Another "weekend only" pellet.

None of those at the Menards over here, just Michigan and AWF white pine super premiums. They had Magic Sparks a couple seasons ago and I picked up two tons. I still have some of those in the back of the barn with the Somersets I forgot I had until last night.

I bought a couple bags of the AWF white pine, and they burned good and hot, but I just wasn't seeing enough difference to justify paying $2.50 more per bag than what I pay for the Pro Pellets.
