Coldest the house got was 64F on both the GF's reloads and return home - and those were afternoon temps with some 20-30mph winds @8-10F with 2x4 walls
if ever decide to build a house it will have 8" walls

I've got 20 tonight here in western Iowa. Today the wind dropped off a lot. In the stove I've got hackberry. The house is a very comfortable 70! On tap a Stella Aetois.

10º on the back porch this morning. Straight Ash in the boiler. Will be cold out when I go out with the tractor after that firewood and logs I cut yesterday. Hopefully there is no wind. I have not been out yet, other than to open the door for the muttleys. The trees look calm though. But, it is Sunday. So I am going to give the neighbors a little more time this morning before I start making noise. I think eggs, sausage or bacon, and toast is in order this morning.

'Warm enough here this morning to let the second stove cool down for a clean-out. Supposed to be fairly warm today, tonight and tomorrow with about 4 or 5 inches of snow starting tonight. Monday night it is supposed to snap down to -15 so refire will be in order. Breakfast sounds good Gas.

Went down to 7°F last night, currently 10°F going up to 30°F today. Its been all pin oak this week. We're expecting a mess of sleet, snow, and possibly freezing rain late tonight through mid day tomorrow. Temps rising at or above freezing this week.

Sounds like our exact forecast! Had 6 degrees this morning house was 71 this morning after a 9.5 hour burn on Shagbark Hickory. Loaded up a bunch of maple, oak, and walnut.

Temps should be headed up above 30 today and freezing rain/wintry mix tonight and tomorrow.

Up to +2 now, from -7 at dawn. The highest low I see in the next week's forecast is +16. Very glad to have a modern stove and dry wood. My best stove-tender goes back to college today, but I'll have use of another one for one more week.

We have a few cold nights starting on Monday, -17... Tuesday we have a high of 4 with - 15 at night.

I did get a nice load of Beech in the Liberty so we'll have the house back to normal.

I had family up for the weekend........they like sleeping in cooler temps so I ran the pellet stove most of the time.

We saw some nice Div. 1 hockey games, the game last night was a track race (fast) it only took 22 minutes to play the first period.

Up to almost 40 today, finally a chance to get the stove cleaned out. A few soft maple splits for the afternoon.

Warmed up here too today. Hit 33°F so the house is low 70's

Mopped up, emptied the ash pan, and cleaned the window. Life is good! :) 20150111_143001.jpg 20150111_143134.jpg

Was 10 this morning but climbed throughout the day to 35. Been burning up some cookies I made with the new saw. Kept the cave warm all day without burning a split since 9 am. 20150111_162554.jpg
