I don't know how good they are but they look like very consistent size and color. Got 20 bags for $4.99 a bag! Most places are $5.69 right now...

Hmmm, how to say this nicely. Most of us avoid the dreaded GS. Not usually a very good pellet. Hopefully your stove likes them.

I wish you luck with them Pete. I still have some that I will burn in my gasification boiler a little at a time when I have a nice deep bed of coals. Gasifying them works well. I have already tried it. They will not be burned in my pellet stove again.

Well o well I'll just clean daily then when I burn them. I'm trying some tonight for the heck of it.

Wonder if that's why they where cheaper....

I tried some Michigan wood pellets from Grayling too and LOVE them. The Holland ones just plain suck though.

I never had an issue with the GS. They are certainly on the higher ash side, but they should be OK.

They may be fine. I'm sure my Harman would tolerate them just fine. But I'd be burning them in the spring and fall, not when it's close to 0 outside.

Problem is my wood hauler is down right now so I need more pellets for a week or so. We have been burning like crazy in the cold this week. I am glad you say shoulder season I can save them for spring then. The seem to be burning good tonight although it might be clinker city by morning.

I would be surprised if you see Clinkers. If you have a descent sized ash pan and are not maxing out your feed rate you will be fine.

Give them lots of air and hope you can get some heat. That is the problem. Hard enough to get heat from a small stove with good pellets.

I bought 3ton of New England wood pellets. Lots of ash heats is ok.
I actually got in touch with Newp and told them I was having trouble with lots of ash.
they sent me out bags to send them samples of ash and pellets.
so I did and got this back.

I received your test results back and your pellets tested very well.
Your Moisture content was 4.13% and your Ash content was 0.58%. PFI premium standards require moisture to be equal to or less than 8% and ash to be equal or less than 1.0%.
Ash will vary from batch-to-batch as it can fall within a range, so minor adjustments may need to be made to airflow and feed rate on occasion.
Harman Stoves are one of the best on the market so as I said, I’m sure it is just a matter of adjusting.
I would like to Thank you for being a New England Wood Pellet customer and hope to continue to have your business.
Please do not hesitate to email or call me if you have any further questions.
    Best Regards,

They seem to be burning well this morning. No more ash then propellets and more heat output for sure. The size of the pellets is far more consistent with the green supreme as well. I like them both really but the green supreme are defiantly hotter burning.

TSC in New Hudson had Somersets for $4.99 a bag.. I picked some up last week. I usually use the pro pellets. I should try the pellets from Grayling... Only about 10 miles away.

They are called MWP on the bag and not the same as the Michigan wood fuels two totally different brands. Michigan out of Holland burned terrible.

How much did you send back to them for them to determine that ash percentage?
