It's under the filter elbow, have to pull the carb, but it's easy.

545 would be my choice as well. :)

Hard to beat that saw, unless you go a little higher up and get the 555. :dex:

545 or 2252 depending on color preference. Maybe a CS 590 if I had larger wood.

I have a jonsered 2255 20" saw and an Efco 5200 20". Both around the same price of 420.00. The husky had a 2 year warranty and the Efco 5 years.

I made it out of the door for $380 - saw was $320 for a 251. Mine runs an 18" bar with no problem in any wood. Good little saw..

    The 461 is gooder..

S0, let me summarize all the above posts regarding first and single firewood saw: Husq 455, 555, 550 or Jred equiv., Stihl 261cm. Echo and Dolmar have high value/price ratio. Buy whatever you can get the best price and best local support for. There is NO SINGLE BEST ANSWER to this eternal question. The good news is, there's only a couple of hundred buck between all of the above options.

That said... Buy an MS261cm, if you can, and never look back!

That would be Husky 545. Not the 455. Just saying.

I'm not so good with Husq #'s. I thought the 455 Rancher was the Husq equivalent to the MS291 Farm Boss, i.e. plastic clamshell 55cc saw Either of these saws will provide more than adequate service for a lifetime of "weekend warrior" usage. Plastic magic saws are definitely have their place. In fact, I have Stihl MS250CBE, for my wife to use in emergency situations (she demanded a chainsaw that she could handle from me). The Easy2Start feature is great for an occasional use saw. It will allow her to extricate herself from our house and our private lane, if I'm not around to help her.

Yes, Rancher = Farm Boss. But the dude asked about a 50cc saw and the 545 has probably been mentioned more than any other saw in this thread. The 545 is a metal case pro quality 50cc saw, for not much more $ than a 455. I'm not a fan of the Rancher or Farm Boss. :)

PS. like your avatar, I know that guy.

Sounds like a great deal. Metal case is so much better than plastic for high usage/long term durability.

Some plastics are pretty darn tough.. My Stihl is over 20 years old and still in good shape.. No cracks in it either.. Metal has no flexibility and can break too.. At work we mold plastic as parts for our products and plastic presses are not cheap nor are the products they create.. Many things we use daily have loads of plastic in them including our cars...

Plastic is such a broad term. Plastic used to build saws is not the same stuff used to wrap your sandwich. The plastic Stihl uses for saw chassis like those found in the 1123 and 1127 series saws is some seriously tough stuff.
