Yes, Verizon has the new moto x for free with a 2 yr contract. http://www.verizonwireless.com/vzw/browse/deviceDetails.jsp?deviceProdId=dev3240002&priceToggle=2y Looks like the droid turbo is free with 2yr contract as well.
Yep major derail as this thread isnt about candy in other words I have no idea what your talking about.
Bloatware is what each carrier or phone manufacturer puts on their phones. They are carrier related apps you can't delete without going and getting all techy. Samsung phones are noted for using touchwiz that is added to stock android os. The wife had a Samsung s4 before going to a new job. I hated that phone. The Samsung stuff just messed up a perfectly goof KitKat android os. But nearly all manufacturers as some sort of bloatware. Some are minimal, but most people wouldn't, couldn't care either way if it's there. The Motorola's, especially the moto x are the least bloatwared, even on carrier models.
I know that was an issue on the nexus7. The new nexus9 was designed for lollipop. Here's an article about the 10 and lollipop. I'd install it if it were me, this article is from November. A lot can happen in 3 months.... http://arstechnica.com/gadgets/2014...pop-and-the-problem-with-big-android-tablets/
Lollipop is androids newest operating system. It's also called android 5. Kitkat is android 4.4 os. Other android OS's were icecream sandwich, and froyo. They are all named after "sweets "
I would have probably got the new moto X if it was out when I got the S5. I did get mine for $10 after trade in so I couldn't hardly pass up the deal.
I think i must have seen zero down for the turbo Yeah, that's a lot different than free w contract. You really need to pay attention as the wording is made to sound the same, and it isn't. Bastages
I'm running an iPhone 5s right now. It's ok, and while it runs slightly smoother than the androids I've had, it still crashes and reboots just as often, and I get just as many app crashes too. But it's probably a better phone for people not demanding too much out of their phones. I use my phone for both personal and work though, and I found it easier to keep things separate with the Androids I had. I'll probably switch back in a couple years when this phone gets old. I've been a big fan of the Motorola phones I've had and seen, so as long as they're still doing what they're doing now, that's most likely what I'll go with. The biggest gripe I have with Android phones though is the size of them! The iPhone 5 is as large as I want, and it's really annoying to get a similar sized Android with downgraded specs to keep a smaller sized footprint.
There are more and more compact versions of the bigger andriod phones arriving. Heck, rumor has it there will be a smaller than iphone6, iphone coming out soon. I've got big hands, so the real issue for me is the phone fitting in pockets. My new motox is just slightly too big to fit in my zippered carhart jacket pocket. But it fits in my vest, pullover, jacket pockets ( motorcycle jacket too) so I'm good. I just draw the line about at the 5.2" screen size.
Ok , I went ahead and tried 5.0.1 on my tablet. So far so good with no critical problems. Not a fan of all the bland white UIs for settings and keypad tho. Edit: spoke to soon. A lot of sound problems.
I wonder when verizons iphone prices will drop again. Looking for the small 6 for $100 or under with the 2 yr. I kind of assumed that after xmas they would drop but they are still up there.
IPhone 6 prices probably won't drop to 100 until the next iPhone is nearly ready, or after its been out. That's one of my major gripes with iPhones. Then, when a new one comes out, you are kind of trapped to shell of more $$ to get the new one.
Most new os updates have some glitches. Hopefully it can get worked out soon. Did you report the problem to android?
Not sure if this is helpful as I only basic functions, but I have a MOTO G that was I think $129 or $199 and I have a monthly prepaid plan. $45 for unlimited text, talk, and internet with Verizon. The moto g was so i could see pictures better LOL, it has a big screen.
I have an iPhone 6. I got the free upgrade deal Verizon had a few months ago. The iPhone 5 I had was doing fine, but I figured why not. I used to have a Droid before I got the iPhone. After iOS 8, I'll be giving Android a look next time I have to get something different. If I had to pay for the phone myself I'd have a basic flip phone (if you can still get them). As it is, I get my choice of electronic tether from my employer, and that tether can be an iPhone, Droid or Windows phone. Anything as long as it has email. (Slightly off topic rant ahead). I was at my wife's family Christmas get together, and it's amazing to see how some people will drop everything when their phone makes a 'ding' noise. I catch myself doing that more and more myself. I don't want to be Pavlov's dog, but it's an easy trap to fall into.
Jitterbug. Number pad and a couple Yes/No buttons. No BS. Just dial tone. http://www.samsung.com/us/mobile/cell-phones/SCH-R220ZRADYN
