I'm still siting and waiting for my big 8 to come back that I couldn't shoot because my slide action on my Rem 30-06 wasn't locked all the way shut. He was only 15 feet away and my trigger did nothing... I got to see his shoulder in my cross hairs for a long minute
Lesson learned.. It was a privilege getting to see such a good size buck up that close.. That was my right time right place moment.. About 30 minutes later I heard a shot from the direction he was headed.. I figure someone else got to enjoy what I just witnessed.. Life goes on... I've been in the same stand 3 more times and zero deer.. I'll wait and be patient.. Guess you can never doubt when hunting...
