Yes, before Thanksgiving we received 17-20 inches...........5 days later it was 70 so we only put on 12-14 miles.

It was still hunting season when we received the 17-20 so the county trails were still closed.

Accuweather says the wind is 14 MPH. Noisiest 14MPH I ever heard.

Started out at 6F this morning. Got all the way up to 18F today with a light 15-20mph breeze.

Hit the vain of hickory that I tucked towards the back of the second row in the shed. Just in time to take the nip out of the air. :)

The end of that row marks the end of our second cord this season. Much better than last year at this time.

15º at 5am. Ash burning in the boiler. Received a little more snow since I went to bed at 9pm last night. On top of the couple inches we got late afternoon and early evening yesterday. Time to put the plow on the truck at 5:30 and clean things up.

Temp here this morning is 14f. We got but a dusting of snow last night. Nice to wake up to no water pipe issues this morning. Both stoves had a nice coal bed, so just stirred things up and fed em again.
Big Antique Snowmobile show and swap meet tomorrow a couple of towns over tomorrow. Depending how the weather is might trip on out there. Has grown to be the biggest in Ontario in the last few years.

Loaded at 8pm last night and I was 15 degrees outside. Got up at my usual time(5am) and the house was still 73 inside and it was 22 degrees outside. Went down and checked the stove and it won't need reloaded for a few hours so it will be the wife's problem since I am headed to work lol. Its amazing that if the temp gets back up in the teens or low 20's I am getting easy 12+ hour burns. Only really have to push it in single digits and lower.

I never checked the inside temps this morning but we were around 15 degrees outside.

This morning I loaded up a nice load of Sugar Maple.

Got all the way up to the low 20s F this morning but is dropping again now, a couple of inches of fresh snow on the ground. Best way to check how the stove is working is when you come in after clearing the driveway just sit in front of the stove with a hot cup of coffee... See how long it takes you to warm-up.

Still burning mixed oak and the house is in the low 70s F.

12 this morning. 18-24" snow in last 48 hours. We got this snow out of the south which is rare. Got up at 5 and had white out conditions right up till about 10 am. Every school in county is closed. Cant say I ever remember that happening before.
Grab bag of species on deck and in the stove.

Wow. That's a lot of snow. The Watertown, NY area and around Tugg Hill received 18-24 in the last few days and are suppose to get that much again today and tomorrow. Some areas could receive more. That much snow like you got JustWood, and the area south and west of me are getting, are the kind of snows where about all you can do is a slow, steady pace of clean up and wait for it to end. Takes a while for the crews to get the roads cleaned well. Those guys make some extra money in overtime but boy do they have to put a lot of hours in. Tiring stuff. This is when people really need to pace themselves or they could be hit with a heart attack! Stay safe and warm.

They are calling for a 60% chance of a "wintry mix" over the weekend. I read that as a 77.5% chance of nothing happening...and an 77.5% chance of us getting smacked.

Pretty common to get those amounts overnight here actually and everyone is well equipped to handle it. I've got a 36"Hx12'W snow box to deal with it but I haven't even broke that out yet just because the snow is manageable with the loader bucket.
