Well, I've had an itch for a ported 562xp by Mastermind for some time. My mint 262xp held a special place for me, but, it was so nice I never really grabbed it to cut wood - just took it out for a bit of trigger time once in a while, but it basically was a shelf queen. I was pretty attached to the saw, but figured I'd post to CL and see what happened. Well, I got a great offer, bringing enough cash to be a little over 1/2 way toward the ported 562xp. It was very hard to do - actually took photos holding the saw for the last time, etc. But, it went to a great guy - he knows what he has and will treat it very well. The 562 will be a worker, which is what I should have - a looker is awesome too, but time to add a saw for the woods. So, I think I'll likely sell my 50 and 51 - and be pretty darn close to the 562xp. I need to stop holding onto saws that just don't see much use - but, damm, it's hard to do!! Cheers!

My first 262xp... It went to a good home as well! I have a slightly more used one, and the only place it's going is to Tennessee for port work.

Why not just send the 262 to Randy to begin with? You'd still have it ..

I know.......I thought about this as well......I didn't want to mess with the original - I wanted to either enjoy it stock, or let someone else enjoy it as it was built (assuming they do!). Cheers!

    NH Wood,

You should feel bad. You screwed up getting rid of a good 262XP.

It's all relative Bandit - I just didn't run her - if I was going to use it as one of my main saws, fine - but she was just too perfect and I never used her - always grabbed my 372, 61, etc for the larger wood. She was very nice to run when I did, but it wasn't often enough. Good to see it go to a guy who appreciates her like I did. I've got to get better at letting some things go in life - there's always another saw and a ported 562xp just might make me happy :D. Cheers!

The 262xp's are old enough now to be collector's items. I do understand why you did it and agree with your choice. But I might have a hard time letting go of a nice 262xp myself...o_O

Yep - wasn't easy at all - I know I'll never have another one in that condition. Again, new owner appreciates it as much as I did - great price - win/win - but I missed her as soon as she left. Oh well, I still have my kids! Cheers!

It's hard letting go of a saw you're fond of (some don't have this issue. But others do). But sometimes it's for the best! :)

That 262xp would be a dream to own, but I would probably run it very little as well.

Congrats on the sale and look forward to your upcoming purchase

Thanks Dex! I'm going to sit on the cash for a while and think of what is best to do. I'm set with 50cc and 70cc saws, and my 61 fills my 60cc needs very well. When I buy, it will likely be another 60cc saw - and leaning toward the 562xp - ported would be nice - always wanted to try one, but perhaps I'll go stock - I'm not trying to win a race. Hell, I don't even need another saw....just a CAD problem! Cheers!

Let's see... 50, 60, 70. What's left? Oh yeah! You need a 90cc! I'm thinking a 661 would fill the void left by that 262xp quite nicely! :saw:

I say get a 562. Later this year the 572 is supposed to be out. You will need one of those too.

I have heard rumors of 3rd quarter but who knows. I'm guessing they want to make extra sure they have all the kinks worked out of the autotune systems before they replace the 372 being it is such a popular saw with the 'I put food on my table with my saw' crowd.
