Guys, welcome jerseygirl! She's new to the club, and she's learning to navigate the forums, so I pointed her in the right direction. She's looking for a good, dependable pellet to burn because she's not real happy with the ones she's using now. I know I'm leaving her in good hands with you guys. She'll take it from here. She should be along soon.

Good morning, and thank you for your guidance...I found That I can pick up at Bucks pellets and their available stock as listed on their website are by the ton, Forest Pride& Okanagan Gold. By the bag Okanagan Gold, Forest Pride and Sry Creek. I am currently burning Easy Heat and not to happy with amount of 'clinkers" and not much heat. Are softwood pellets ok?

Softwood is definitely OK. There will be some others coming by that have burned those exact pellets and can give you some guidance. My suggestion would be buy a couple of bags of each and see what works best for you.

I'm sorry, I would have mentioned Buck's but didn't think you were anywhere near them. Joe is a really good guy, he'll take care of you. The softwoods are ok but like IHP said, try a few bags of different kinds to see what your stove likes. Those Forest's Pride pellets, I would think, would burn good for you though.

I've never burned them but I believe they typically weren't that great. Hopefully someone else will chime in on them.

Welcome JG. I am primary burner of softwoods. Blazers and Vermont's are my two brands. But since joining these pigs, I have taken their advice. Like IHP states get a mix of them, at least 2 bags each if possible to get the real story. I found that I like minuteman now which is a cheaper option. And I have my first two bags of a lower end hardwood going in the hopper as we speak. I have a ST Croix and like mentioned your results may vary!! Happy hunting!! And let us know your results!!

Welcome to the Show Jgirl .

    What stove do you have?

Have you checked out Lowe's or Home D, to see what they have in stock?

    Welcome!
I burned a few bags of easy heats in my stove. My stove eats pretty much anything without complaining. However, I noticed the heat output wa so so with the easy heats. They make a decent shoulder pellet.

Welcome aboard! Vulcan pellets have a bad reputation in this neck of the woods. Good luck!

J-girl.....you're sure to find help here, and likely also to get just as many opinions on what's good and what isn't. As mentioned above, buy several bags of each kind, try them out, and come to your own conclusions. Everyone's stove and install is different, as well as their domicile, needs, local retail conditions, and climate. Down there in sunny, tropical Joizey, I'm sure you'll find some great options!

    Welcome to the forums!
