I heard this front pushing through has a lot of cooler air and it's going to whip some stuff up. Heard that even NYC is getting 40+ mph winds. Like you said, everybody stay safe. Check those generators, now.
Good advice, brother. Everyone stay safe. Looks like we may be able to build some fires this week with the cool-down!
That's what I'm hoping for, Scott. It's so humid I have the A/C on right now. I want see some fall weather.
We're right at the northern edge of the tornado watch box on the weather site. Hope none of them touch down and also hoping that the high winds don't take the tarp off the firewood.
I just checked and it's 96% humidity. Worse than living in the tropics! They say NY's weather is described as Continental Humid, whatever that means. I just know it sucks.
Just talked to "The Warden" in East Syracuse. Raining hard and extremely windy. I'm 25 miles east of Syracuse at work and the temp just dropped, can smell rain in the air, and wind picked up to around 30 mph in the last 2 or 3 minutes. Very strange clouds rolling around too. Hold on to your hats and hope the twisters don't show up.
We have a severe thunderstorm watch with a wind advisory for gusts to 45 starting at 2pm. I'm ~20 miles inland of Boston as the crow flies. EDIT: Now they added "and an isolated tornado cant be completely ruled out."
Just a wind advisory at this time for us, the tornado watch is south of us, it's starting to darken up outside. The rain is starting to come down hard. Stay Safe.
Jeremy, hope your kids are feeling better. The winds are starting here and we've had a couple squalls with winds over 30mph.
Hopefully soon. I woke up with the sore throat this morning. Joey seems to be starting to get better, but now Juliet is getting the worst of it. They always get it one after the other. It would be sad if it was not also cute to watch a 2 1/2 yr old little girl sitting pretending to sneeze and then sobbing "I'm crying... Juliet is sad... Daddy Daddy!... Mommy wipe up the drips!" (she calls tears drips)
It's the worst when the kids get sick. I remember well. I was the last one to catch whatever was going around the house. The anticipation drove me crazy. Especially with a stomach virus making the rounds. For some reason my wife managed to avoid a good bit of the illnesses.
