Just the bug, or whatever is going around, sinus and respiratory junk. Doc said average wait time in the ER here is 10 hours, and the hospital has run out of beds. Major flu outbreak here.

Do you think the leaf bag will help work at least a little bit to keep that stuff from hitting the neighbors house etc. if that situation arises?

Yeah mine will make that stink a little bit on the first really hot fire up of the season. If you check around you can find really long bottle brushes they make for chimney sweeps that you can use to clean the heat exchanger tubes out depending on how your stove is designed.

That is a heck of a good idea, never thought of that. I always just take a air compressor every ton and shoot some air down there. I can see the baffle above the convection blowere where there is a little dust, but no way to get to it without a major tear down. Thanks again, I appreciate that advise!

I'm not going to test it with the leaf bag tomorrow, I want to see the show lol. I'll test it on another one. The calls are starting to come in for the new sweep/service/install business so it shouldn't be too long before I get another one.

Also, from the sounds of it my boss has severely neglected her Quadrafire 1200fs. I know for a fact that those stoves can hold a LOT of ash so this might be interesting.

 debating with husband at this very moment on large compressor or backwards leaf blower. :zip: I will stop, not me doing the labor. Showing him pictures here on the leaf blower, he's not sold yet.

Wow Imacman, I know when I was at the doc last week he told me he saw 52 patients Monday, and I was the 32 on Tuesday, and this is a small town family doc. Hopefully this cold weather kills this junk!

Older daughter & I got ours a while back.......the Quadvalent version (4 strains). Luckily, neither of us have gotten a flu, but unfortunately, even the quad version doesn't cover the real bad flu going around. Guessed the people who make the decision of what strains they're going to make the flu shots for miscalculated just a little. Even that one only covers about 50% of the strains out there.

Yes, but not as bad as the rest of the country yet. Sick folks need to stay out of general circulation. They are one of a few primary vectors for flu transmission.
