I am posting this in hopes that it might help someone else having similar issues. I have been struggling with latency issues for months off and on, have had a tech out to the house twice and although the levels read as good all of my devices connected via wifi struggled to "resolve host," often for 10-20 seconds depending on the device after EVERY SINGLE CLICK. I was using a Mediacom issue modem with built in WiFi. I ended up connecting a Linksys WRT1900AC router (one of the best on the market, $250 retail price) which gave me the range I wanted but did not resolve the latency problem. Replaced my laptop too only to find the issue exactly the same on newer hardware. Had the tech out again, he says everything is good. Finally yesterday I bought a Motorola Surfboard SB6141 (supposed to be best on market, $90 retail) and magically all of my problems are solved. Everything connects quickly, loads fast and no latency. What a PITA all this was, especially having techs out and being told there is nothing wrong. I hope this helps someone.
