Don't normally sell wood but a friend of my moms called wanting some wood. So I told him I'd sell him a pickup load if he would pick it up. Said he could have half a cord for $125. So he showed up and loaded his truck, only fit 1/3 of a cord in his shot bed but he was happy to pay the $125 for it. I got plenty so I'm not worried about selling a little. And it gives me an excuse to go cut some more.
Ummmmmm... Why can't you send firewood by email? All the recipient needs is one of these: and a whole lot of this: .. Heck, I'll even get you started. Just send me $50 via paypal and you can use my supply of firewood. Here's some to get you started: I can email you more later..
Don't think of it as selling wood for money.. think of it as 1/3 of a cord exchanged for: Or if it's on sale, for: Since it only takes one of these to produce 1/3 of a cord: The rest is profit.. damm.. Am I the only one who went to business school? If anyone is wondering, Busch was on sale on base over here for $15.75 per 30 pack earlier this summer when it was Africa Hot!!!!
Love it but not so much the Busch, my brother drinks a lot of that. I'm more of a dark beer fan. But love the point there.
I sell a little to my neighbors up the road. The first couple times they would say "If you have any to spare, we'll take a little bit". Now they just leave a VM saying "that wood put out so much heat we just love it. We'll take another load when you have a chance." They're used to buying from a firewood seller...I'm sure it was "seasoned" in log form then cut and split the day of delivery. I'm selling them some oak I c/s/s in Nov 2011. Mine probably does burn a little better. I don't like selling firewood, but they are good neighbors who can't do it for themselves...and I get almost 4 cases of on sale Busch per load, expect they pay in US dollars (the nerve of some people).
Firewood sells so cheap around here I would lose money figuring in my time & expense. It would be about as cheap for me to buy the wood but what would be the fun in that?
