We cut firewood as a family. We cut this stuff this morning but had to stop working for the day about an hour ago due to it getting muddy and slick on top. Dragging out a dead Elm My pile of logs from today that I still need to buck up
Here is what we bucked up and hauled out from today. This was all dead standing less than 16% on the moisture meter so it went in a seperate pile. One of the bucked up piles we hauled out. Double stacked pallet of rounds from today to be split. About 75% of that pile is from today.
Certified106 , looks like you have a good start. Glad the family is involved, makes everything a little easier when there are helpers. And you have no snow on the ground yet, another plus.
Ha, I can't believe I didn't even mention or take a picture of the saw! I have been using the Snellerized Husqvarna 555 and it is a beast. I can't go on enough about how much I love that saw! The only thing is with the compression it is running every once in a while it will get you if you are drop starting it lol. Here is a picture just not from today
Having my wife out there to hook and unhook chains from the logs etc. sure made it go easier! I am so thankful she will work right alongside me all day and never blink an eye, I am truly blessed in that respect.
Working together in the great outdoors is a blessing, savor every bit of it. My wife used to help me quite often and still does when she can, I really enjoy that time together.
Looking real good Certified and looks like you had a nice day for it. I was going to head out this morning but it was pretty windy in our area to be in the woods. I took all the Christmas outside decorations down this morning and man was it cold....of course wouldn't you know it, warmed up outside after I was done
Looks like a great weather day to be out having fun in the woods. Getting to run the saw, is a big bonus
It was 22 degrees and the wind was blowing hard when we went out this morning. My face is definitely wind burnt this evening. I thought about not cutting when I went out and saw how windy it was but most of what I went after was either down or hung up so the wind didn't affect me that much. I also needed that frozen ground to get back in where I was going. The whole reason I ended up skidding out the logs was due to the fact I could tell I couldn't get it all out before it was going to warm up and get muddy so I started pulling them out whole to where I can process at a later date.
Had a blast today. I have wanted to cut for the last week but my back was flarin up pretty bad so I was trying to take it easy. Feels ok now though so i am glad it didn't flare back up today.

It is unreal what you can get done with these little tractors and you are right about how awesome they are for sneaking around in the woods! I have thought about a bigger tractor but every time I do I think about the fact I couldn't even get a bigger tractor back through my trails I say no way.
I agree. When getting out firewood, some tractors are too big unless the woods is like a park with mature trees and lots of space between them. I also have to agree that it it really good when husband and wife can work together.
