If I'm gonna' dish it, I gotta' be able to take it too.
As for the jig, I screwed up the initial depth setting and saw little bits of blue coming back up with the bit.:headbang: Read the directions with both eyes closed, I guess.
Just a real small divot, so no big deal.
I'm hoping the wet stuff will be gooder to go in '16, but I have my doubts.
The dead/down barkless should be usable by next fall.
Lots of that left in the woods where I cut.

Very motivational post PD... Stacks look good and every little bit helps! I'm hoping to get a little more in next week, weather permitting.. :)

I tried to reply to your post, but it takes too much time to go through the spellchecker and then my computer starts to get too hot...

    Good progress Dave.
Progress is progress, I find when I put a small goal on what I want to get done in a day, and I get more done than that, I see that I feel real good about it.

Used to long of a screw a couple times , (sharp little suckers draw blood fast )
& drill the wrong side once or twice. Just laugh at myself & move on , with a few band aids :) LOL

    Agreed.
I really wanted to keep going, but I did what I planned for the day and stopped.
If we don't get more than a dusting of snow, I'll try getting more done in the next few days. Would make me real happy to get all that Oak s/s.

Dave, it appears you got a dusting of snow there. Still nothing here. There is ice on the standing water but it is not very thick yet. I'm hoping it gets a bit more solid as I have some wood to get out and have to go through some soft spots.

Worry not Scotty, the desire will return. But it sounds to me as if you need to take a couple days to spend on something besides the wood. It will many times help both body and mind. As for snow, it appears we won't get too much this year but that could change in January; I'm betting in the second half of January we'll be seeing more.

Driver, I did not hunt at all last year. Not from not wanting to but more like the body would not take it. Then we also were in DC on opening weekend of rifle deer season so time we returned, the good hunting was all done. Perhaps it paid off because this year was one of the best I've had for a long time.

Starting to get pizzed off again.
Although the weather's been kinda crappy, I thought I'd go back out Tues. and get some more Oak s/s.
However, the splitter decided it didn't like that idea and refuses to start.
Pulled the air filter, and cleaned the pre-filter, pulled the plug and sprayed it off......it's still in good shape from the looks.
    Still, nothing.
I might get rid of the gas and refill with brandy new, fresh, but it's the same gas I've been using.

Choke on, and the plug was wet, which is why I sprayed it off. Should I not have used water?  J/K

    :picard:... water.

That's exactly what happened to my TroyB this spring. Fresh gas in the tank and it was determined to give my arm a good workout pullin'. I finally sprayed carb cleaner right into the throat (air filter off) and it finally fired and quit. Did it a couple times and it finally took off and never skipped a beat all spring/summer. Varnish crap built up I'm guessing. Have had Marine Stabil in the gas since.

Stinny, that's the next plan.....get some cleaner in there, or starter fluid.
I have to admit, the gas isn't exactly super fresh, but it's the same stuff I had when I ran it on Sunday. I forgot I had some Stabil in the shed, and didn't use it on the last 5 gallons I got. I'll put it in the next batch.
Think I'll put in a new plug just for the heck of it and either order or buy a new air filter too.

Just got back from picking up some starter fluid and a plug.
Checked the spark, and yep......got spark.
I'll go out in a bit and work on it some, after I digest my soup, sammich, and punkin pie.

A plugged air filter would act like the choke is closed.
Black smoke & probably won't idle.
    Try with no filter ?
