Well, thinking about getting up and at them... I ended taking a nap, they woke me up to watch the New Year come in, and came back to the house tended the fire. The rest was history. Happy New Year to everyone and to FHC!

Not sure whats going on today. Been up for a couple hours, feel pretty good.
No heavy drinking last night, I think those days are long gone. Had a few beers at dinner
then a quiet night at home until 12. I think we'll take the dogs to the beach today and work
on some things around the house today. Back to the grind tomorrow. :)

Happy New Year Gals and Fellas! We have started the year off right by being on the
    the best forum.

Going to do a stove instal at whitey's today and then go to the woods and start on the coffee bean trees. This is all dependent on if the temp gets above the negative 2 that it is currently!

Well I spent an hour and a half walking and talking with the Amish fella about the trees and potential logs.

Right now he only needs a few Ash logs to build a wagon. But could potentially need a whole lot of Pine and some Ash (for structures) when he closes on the property he wants to buy. So according to my calculations about a dozen Ash logs at 12" diameter minimum on small end and 16 feet long would be more than enough for what he needs. About 500 bd.ft. Not much money involved right now there unfortunately.

No. A LOT of new Amish families have moved into the area over the last 5-10 years. This family came here about the same time we were closing on our camp property. Oct. 2013. It appears they are really spreading out from their main population areas. And they need property.

So this family lives on another mans farm not far from my house. About 3 miles away. He milks cows for the farmer and is looking to buy land pretty soon. It appears he is buying about 30 miles from here though.

Wow - I have been away for a few days and 11 pages happened on this thread. Although I have been gifted with an iphone - FHC hasn't been bookmarked on it yet. I know, I know I am slipping.

Granny came over on Monday and dogsit the kids for us as we made a quick trip down to see the grandkids. The two year old knows how to watch her fav movie on an ipod. I think I feel old.

    Happy New Year, everyone.

One of my resolutions is to catch up with technology, though, it looks like I'm way behind compared to you :)
