    Add vapor barrier to the floor then add insulated floor above concrete.. Heat wise watts is watts no matter what the ads say.. There is no magic heat and all electric heaters are 100% efficient period!

    I'll take that as gospel coming from you Mr. electrician :thumbs:

    I've been thinking about getting something for the Man Cave for early/ late season when it's cold down there ,but don't want to fire up the wood stove for a few hrs.

    Problem with electric heaters is makes that meter outside spin at a dizzy speed.

    For this reason incandescent are inefficient as a light source since around 80% of the energy consumed is given as heat.. Incandescent lamps are great heaters though..

    You could however heat your home with LED lights.. You would have a very bright cold house though lol..

    As some have said, they all put out the same watts and will heat the same. A couple of suggestions though. Oil filled radiators will keep the feel of the room more consistent.
    My other suggestion if someone is going to be in the room while the heat is on is to look into the micathermic heaters. I have two. They can hang on the wall and are an 80/20 split of convection and radiant.

    I have two, one in my bedroom and one in my spare bedroom. I like them because they hang on the wall and do not take up floor space, unless you use the wheel kit. Mine are Delonghi. I am a bit of a space heater hoarder. I have two oil filled, two micathermic, three ceramic, one baseboard electric, one electric fireplace and two fan forced that hang up in my two bathrooms.

    If the roof felt is the tar impregnated/coated type, yes, Although poly is a lot cleaner and won't glue things together when warm temps return. Also depends on what is on top of it something like stick down tile might not stick, as well as tar bleeding up through tile joints. In the case of vinyl sheet goods might not react favorably with each other.
