Nope, the bear didn't forget to fill the stove.

There were no presents under the tree first thing in the morning.

We had the little ones and their parents over yesterday for Christmas.

The little ones have their Christmas at their house on the 25th where it should be.

Our gathering is either before or after.

For Christmas day it was my wife, myself, our youngest daughter and our son. No muss, no fuss.

When you are old like us you become more flexible in your schedule.

I forgot to share what Santa showed up with on Christmas. A new ash pail, and made in America at that!

Anyone have one of these galvanized ash pails. I am wondering how quick it will rust, as I do not have a covered place outside.

I have a full size (30 gallon I think) galvanized barrel outside 24/7 that is only used for ashes and it's been there maybe 2-3 years and it still looks fine.. I have propped on 3 bricks..

That sounds good, I will put some bricks down and sit it out by the garden. Thanks for the suggestion, appreciate it!

To be safe I keep the barrel 20' from the house.. Many fatal fires are caused by careless handling of "dead" ashes..

I am with you on that. I was a volunteer fireman and ems lieutenant, and seen a lot of fire cause by simple mistakes from ash disposal. I will never forget a guy that took his ashes out of the stove, and went and dumped them in the woods next to his house on a windy day. 5 acres later burned up, and melted siding on his house, I think he learned from his mistake.
