With the holidays, and work being shut down until the fifth, me and my father-in-law decided cut some of the ridiculous piles of downed trees on the family farm. We cut, split, and stacked 2 large pick-up loads of wood today, and we plan on doing the same a couple more times before I go back to work. Way to much fun.
We had a lot of hedge, some elm, and a little walnut. Its all been down for about 2 years. We barely made a dent in what we have left to cut.
I'm fairly new to the wood burning community. Still getting good with my saw, and trying to get it broke in.
Take your time and learn all the safety stuff about using a chainsaw. Always wear chaps and eye and ear protection of some sort. You will be glad you did. Many people don't do this, and some find out the hard way that they should have. Stay safe man.
Echo CS-590. Ive done a little cutting with a small craftsman saw my dad has, but nothing on this level.
Start saving your pennies, nickels, dimes, and quarters. I fill CAD coming on. For some a incurable sickness. For me heaven.
Welcome to FHC Ryan R . Always nice to have a steady supply of wood on the family farm. I think you will enjoy the folks on the forum, ask your questions and share what you have.
Welcome Hedge is some prime BTU wood . Good hard work fun with a stack of BTUs to look at to see all the effort . Sounds lik you have a good wood source to be able to get a few years ahead. Lucky you! Have fun !
I got my chaps from TSC Jonsered brand, I picked up a Jred forestry helmet too....I like having the eye, ear and head protection all in one.
Pete is gonna love seeing this post. http://firewoodhoardersclub.com/forums/threads/new-cs590-timber-wolf-is-in-review.6077/
Sounds like you have an ideal situation there, nice to have a good place to cut and someone to help. WELCOME to the forum you're gonna like it here.
Sounds like a great day. Some gooder BTU's you've got too. Theres been a quite a little bit of stir about that ECHO brand (Pallet Pete ). I think there is starting to get quite a bit of a following, a very nice bang for the buck. Be safe out there.
Ha! You boys are hilarious! Yup those are great saws Ryan I run echo equipment both saws and other stuff. My favorites are actually my line trimmers those things are indestructible pieces of equipment. The saws are really nice. Check out my 590 thread if you haven't lots of great info there on echo saws!
