Hold on, I have a BIG problem with my gift guys!!! It seems to be going up it smoke!!!!

Love em, way better than the AR's! These are very well made, rolled perfect. They have a perfect draw, and are a nice mild smooth cigar! This will be tight competition with my favorite Torano's. Nothing like a relaxing small batch Bourbon on the rocks and a cigar in the sunshine in December! Thanks again Mike.

Thank you Dex. The generosity of you, and this place amazes me. I'm truly blessed to have found a place to hang out and be apart of with you guys. I want to thank you again for that 036 that was melted down and allowing me to buy it for my buddy, named Buddy. (really bernard, but we call him buddy). On the way home from dads this morning I stopped by his place and gave him the rebuilt and slightly modded 036. back ground story was he cuts wood for heat and changed jobs this year and traveled to provide for his four kids and wife... well he got laid off and was out of wood. I gave him a cord because I thought I had plenty of dry wood, that turned out to be another issue, but his only saw is an ms170. he has land where I've been cutting and the amount of wood that is cut-able with his tiny saw is very slim as it is mostly large oak and downed cherry 24" and bigger. The oak I topped this summer still needs to come down, and the top took out by lightning was 24" in diameter 40' up. might be the only tree I've been nervous in topping (half was took out by lightning at the fork, and the tall stem had little meat left at the fork. The base of this tree is 5 1/2'-6' diameter. Anyways, I let him borrow my 372 with a 25" for a couple months so he could cut up all the stuff we put on the ground. He had an 036 a few years ago that was stolen off his back porch by a crackhead.

Anyways, I stopped over around noon on the way home from dads and caught him off guard. He said I don't have any beer, so you probably don't want to hang out. I told him I just stopped by to say hi to the family since I wasn't around for christmas. Went in the house, and I told him I forgot my phone in the truck. I went out to the truck, got the 036 that I put a topend on and set it on the landing inside the back porch and walked in the kitchen. I asked him if he was burning today with it so nice out. He said he was milking the cherry since it was in the 40's. I said I have a couple pieces of dry maple in the truck if you want to go get them.

As he went to the landing he about tripped on the 036 and said WTF is this? I sat in the kitchen talking to his wife and acted like I didn't hear him. Again, I here, hey DIK, WTF is this saw with a bow on it? ( i didn't wrap it up, just a simple bow on the handle bar). I ignored him again, as he carried the saw into the kitchen, i turned and said Merry Christmas Buddy. He thought it was some kind of sick joke at first. Then "i can't pay you for this", and I shouldn't have teased him with it. I said Buddy, relax... its yours. Merry Christmas. its for you and the family to keep y'all warm this year, next year and from here on out, just don't leave it on the porch. It was about that point I got to see a 47 year old man break down and cry. I don't think I've ever been hugged so hard in my life. Apparently no one has ever done anything nice for him. In the midst of everything I didn't think to take a picture, but I assure you in the next couple days I'll be over there cutting and we'll get some pictures. His youngest son, Eddie, is now excited to run dad's "little saw". I did a little port to it and hung a nice used stihl ES 20" bar on it with a couple RS and RM chains, and am on the lookout for a 24-25"...

Again, thank you Dex. I know you could have made some money on that saw and flipping it, but you have a friend forever right here for the gesture you did. This christmas was hard on everyone in my life but that brought out the true Christmas spirit. I've been a little on the bah humbug the last few years and this year really opened my eyes and made me think that maybe, just maybe there are some decent people left in the world. Thank you, buddy.

Today (yesterday now) was a bourbon from Kentucky Springs distillery, Basil Haydens. I just cracked it open, first time trying it. Surprisingly good, surprised I haven't had it before. I bought it cheap in PR last week (no taxes...). I try them all.....

    What do you like, recommend?

That is a great story stang. Helping Buddy and his family is generosity that can't be measured. Just plain good stuff. Awesome.

I'm not a bourbon man myself, my BIL is, and he drinks a lot from small distilleries. The few I have tried, are all big branded companies and Knob Creek is at the top of my short list (again, I don't drink or have a taste for it).

I was just wondering. My BIL will be here for New Years. I will have to remember to take a pic of whatever he brings this year (always something different that I have never heard of).

    No problem bud...

I passed both of those 036's along for exactly what I had in them and both people were very grateful. I can always make more money, but only certain times in life do you make memories that last a lifetime. I'm glad I could help you make one of those memories.

You had me tearing up as I read that post.. :tears:
