I thought to day was going to be a complete wash. The wifey said I had to go into omaha with her and return clothes. Ah crap! Got home and did get a cord moved to the basement. The way this winter is going I might only bring one more down and not get too carried away. image.jpg

Hey nice work there mj_deere. It has been a mild winter so far. That's okay, we can use the wood we save next year!

You sure it won't expire. I've heard stories of it getting stale from bogydave.

You are so right. I brought 3 cord onto the covered porch this fall and I usually bring up one more in late february. The way the weather as been I might be ok as is.

Too much is always enough, as my dad would say! You never can be too sure about the weather. Looks like you got the bark off of it - that's where all the bugs live. I say bring it in!

Mild winter here too, "So far" .
January & Feb can still bring us weeks of below zero,
although the long term climate forecast is for 10° above average. :) Into next year too.

    30°, & snowing :)

Nice work. I think everyone is having a mild winter but we never know what's right around the corner. It could turn ugly in a blink of an eye. I guess it will help the people that are trying to catch up on their wood piles. I guess that leaves us with some extra wood for next year ehhh

I could be imagining things, but I feel like October and November were unseasonably cold around here but December was warmer. My wood use has slowed down this month.

Mine slowed down dramatically, this month. But that keeps more money in the account.

I had a bit over 5 cords stacked and would usually use 4 but this is the first year with a wood boiler so I don't know what to expect. If we have to switch over to oil at some point in the season you might find me twitching in the corner refusing to accept reality :headbang:

Not imagining things at all. December has been warmer than normal. But they tell us that is about to come to an end quickly this coming week. Also, January is when most of the snow falls in a normal winter so be prepared.

Now that trip to the city to exchange things does not sound at all like fun.
