:saw:Wow. To heck with that. This saw wants to cut some wood! Very nice. The extra power, which is only 10CCs more, makes quite a difference! Smooth. Wish you guys would have told me about how nice extra power is!:p

Took this Ash down and a couple smaller ones, then two dead Pine, one live one, and two live Spruce. The thinning is moving along slow but sure.

Good time to take this big Ash stump I left last year. :saw:Started by dicing down the main crotch and then taking it in two pieces. Still in good shape.

What do you think of it weight wise against the 290?

Is that the 590? Flipped a CS550 about a year ago - that was a nice saw - if that's a 590, I'm sure it's real nice too - congrats and happy cutting! Cheers!

I had looked it up before I bought it. I forgot how many ounces it is heavier, but it is like a half pound or so I think. It almost feels the same, but I think it is a heavier. But with the extra power your cruising through the wood faster. Nice!

Thanks guys. This view is from far away but the pile is steadily increasing while I'm on vacation! Suppose to rain next two days though. :( Oh well, good time to relax with the wife and kids.

I wasn't thinking. Some that see this thread may have missed my other one about deciding on a saw. My wife and kids bought me this new saw for Christmas! I traded in my Stihl MS290 Farm Boss and my older Stihl 009 on this one. So far I'm impressed with it. Now we will see how it holds up to me thinning out my woods. Lots of cutting in its future.

Pete I believe you were the one who suggested Echo CS590. But I thought that that was not much power above the Farm Boss. When I decided to go with a bigger saw then a small/light one I then happened to see another comment you made and I think you said your next saw was going to be the CS 680. I then decided to check that out. I was leaning the Stihl way but a larger Stihl like the 440 Magnum was over $900. Not in the budget. With this saws size and the price being $619 on sale it fit right in with me exchanging the other saws in. So thanks for mentioning Echo in my other thread and reporting on your saw in your review thread. I'm going to put this girl to the test for sure :saw:, and we will see how she holds up. :saw:

Your very welcome Gas! I am a fan of the echo saws no doubt lol. That 590 was the best saw purchase for a main saw so far. Its dead nuts reliable.... I do some 30" plus trees and am saving for a bigger echo saw just because I love the 590 so much...

How does it sound? Isn't bottled up at all? Did they put carb limiters on it?

It sounds great. :thumbs:I do wear hearing protection of course.  I did enough damage when I was young to my ears with the music and all. LOL But it sounds good when I don't have the muffs on to0. :lol:I notice it sounds different than my MS290. It has a lower growl or gurgle to it. Sounds cool. I wouldn't know if it wasn't right though. I don't know much about saws Pete. Carb limiters. I would have to take some chit apart to tell you that I guess. Can I tell by just pulling the air filter?

I will decide that when I get up. If it's raining, I won't be cutting. They sure are calling for it. 80% for tomorrow. 70% for tomorrow night. Then windy on Christmas.
Thanks about the saw. I did go get it because my wife and kids wouldn't know what to get me for a saw. But that was my Christmas present from all of them. One big one was all I wanted. I have a lot of trees to thin out of my woods and am hoping this saw will do well. I'm psyched about being on vacation and having a new saw!
