Heard this on the drive into work this morning. Viewing a crackling fire reduces both stress and blood pressure. http://www.myfoxal.com/story/27635686/study-finds-enjoying-a-crackling-fireplace-can-reduce-stress
I fall asleep to this sometimes. The study is right. http://www.amazon.com/Crackling-Fir.../ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top?tag=viglink20248-20
Yup. What is more relaxing than watching a nice fire? Nothing. Another one I heard about years ago was watching tropical fish in a tank. I have had tanks for years. But over the last few years they have been in the basement. And now I realize that was a mistake. I don't spend any time down there. Time to move them somewhere else in the house so they will be seen more.
Thinking about this more. How long have we been doing this? I read something on this many years ago where the experts think we may have been controlling fire for up to 500,000 years. Here is a recent finding. That is a lot of fires my friends. http://news.nationalgeographic.com/...-human-species-discovery-archaeology-science/
I have had all kinds of Tropical fish over the years but have lost interest in them since I put the tanks down cellar. I am down to just Fancy Guppies and a Pleco and catfish. I need to get back into it so I can teach the kids how to do it. I think I will do this over vacation in between cutting wood and spending time with the family.
When I was younger, my brother and I had a tank in our room with 3 goldfish. I kid you not, one day we came in and there was only one very large goldfish left. I guess he got a little hungry
